My makeover from the Clinique Star Tour 2011

If you have been to the shopping malls for the past weekends, you might see this White Truck parked in front of the malls and wondering why people are queuing for it.

Well it is the Clinique Star Tour 2011 Mobile Truck! And I visited them when they stopped over in Pavilion KL !

When I reached there, I was shocked to see that actually that the slot for the rest of the evening has been almost filled up even though it was raining quite heavily.

I filled up the form and register myself for the Clinique Star Tour Search.. even though I am over 25 years old I am still allowed to join for the makeover for fun :D

Check this out, they have everything inside this Clinique Mobile Truck !!

When I got on the truck, first I got to queue for my skin to be analyzed. I was told I have dry-combination skin.

Then all my makeup was removed by the Clinique Skin Consultant using Clinique Take The Day off, which is a cleansing balm.

The Clinique's 3-Step Skin Care System which was recommended for me.

1) Clinique Liquid Facial Foam Mild
2) Clinique Clarifying Lotion No 2
3) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

and top up with Clinique All About Eyes

Me busy applying the skincare myself :D

So this is my bare face without any makeup. Please ignore my dark eyes circles :(

Then I go ahead to do my hair do first

Looked how I enjoyed myself with this "temporary" personal hairstylist

I am done and I love my big sexy curl!

Then Mr David Ooi, Clinique Makeup Expert started busy transforming myself with his makeup brush!

He shared that in order for the liquid foundation to last longer, we should pump out the liquid foundation on the back of our hands and dab it with the makeup brush before stroking foundation brush on our face. The reason is we would the liquid foundation to get a little bit heat from the back of the hands then the foundation stayed longer and close more pores.

After 30 mins or so I am done and I took a picture with Mr David Ooi.

My close up look - green eyeshadow which is very matching with my dress!

Here are the makeup items that are being used at the makeover by Mr David are

Clinique Super Moist Liquid Foundation in 66 True Beige
Clinique Blended Facepowder and Brush in 20 Invisible Blend
Clinique High Impact Eyeshadow in Lemongrass
Clinique Blushing Blush Powder Blush in 121 Enchanted Bronze
Clinique Chubby Stick in 04 Mega Melon
Clinique Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in 03 Mango
Clinique Lash Power Voluminizing Mascara in Black

Then I proceed to photo shoot session. not easy... haha see how the photographer giving live modeling tutorial !!

And me and Sharon , my personal photographer of the day :) Thank you for helping me to take so many awesome pictures :D

Last but not least our pictures which are taken at the Clinique Star Tour 2011 mobile truck are directly being uploaded to the Clinique Star Tour picture gallery at http://www.cliniquestartour.com.my where we can view our photo and details and voting will only start on 8th August for the public.

Heineken presents "The Art of Pouring by Franck Evers"

Let's not talk about beauty too, but something that I just discovered and learned recently which is BEER! Well I don't take that much of beers but my bf loves it so much. So when I attended the "Heineken : The Art of Pouring by Franck Evers" I don't really know what to expect. But after the event, I realised that pouring a perfect pint of beer can be an ART and it does make a big different to the person who drinks it!

MC and Mr Franck Evers - Heieken's Beer Craftsman who hails from Netherlands

Ms. Jasmine Foong is the Marketing Manager of Heineken Malaysia explains, “The Art of Pouring workshop reflects Heineken’s promise of quality. Franck’s expertise is invaluable and through this workshop, he brings the art of pouring of a pint of Heineken in Malaysia to perfection level. Through our various campaigns, we hope consumers will be able to immerse themselves in the ultimate Heineken experience every time they enjoy a pint of Heineken, one that is shared by millions of fans throughout the world.”

Franck said that there is a real ritual to pouring a perfect pint of beer, in fact, it is an art form. He explained that every single step makes a difference in getting the perfect pint of Beer.

And the highlight of the event is where Franck going to do a demo !

The Four Steps to Pouring the Perfect Heineken

1) Rinse - Rinse the glass in cold water before serving. And never dry with a towel as it leaves fibers behind

2) Pour -Pull the beer tap in one quick motion. Let the build up of carbon dioxide escape, control the flow of the beer and then let it spiral into the glass which is tilted at 45 degree angle

Then move back the glass into 90 degree and close tap in a quick motion when the foam almost reaches the top of the glass.

3) Skim - Remove excess foam with a wet skimmer held at a 45-degree angle. This leaves a thin layer of water over the foam which protects in from oxidizing. A perfect two-finger thick head of foam ensures that the beer stays fresh and cold for longer keeping it from going flat.

4. Serve - Serve your customers quickly and with a smile. Present their Heineken in a Heineken branded glass, held at the bottom with the logo facing them.

Sound easy ???

Well I also went forward to try to pour the perfect pint of beer under the guidance of Franck. I must say it is not easy!

The secret in pouring the perfect pint of beer is about the timing as to when to tilt the glass and when to open and pull back beer tap to create the right amount of foam.

A perfect two-finger thick head of foam ensures that the beer stays fresh and cold for longer keeping it from going flat. You know the Ahhh....feeling (gassy feeling) you get when you drink a new can of coke ? That is the same feeling that we should be getting every time if that beer is a perfect pint of beer

In fact at the beginning of the event, when Franck asked publicly who do not really like to drink beer, I put on my hand without hesistation. Yes I am not a fan of beer because it is sourish! Franck told me he is going to change my mind about beer and will make me a perfect pint of beer for me to try. My first sip was like wow nice chilling and gassy feeling. To be honest, I do not taste any bitterness at all at the first sip because the beer was cold. And the taste of the beer only comes after I swallowed!

A picture of myself and Franck Evers! And finally I managed to pour a perfect pint of Heineken!

Bloggers -Wilson, me, Tian Chad, Ming and Junie

We enjoyed good beer, food and chit chatting!

And at the end of the event I managed to ask Franck to write my name & signed on my Heineken glass which was given to me as a door gift!

And yes I do think that a perfect pouring of every pint of beer does make a difference to the taste of the beer we are tasting regardless the brand.

My mini makeover at Lancome Loves Colors roadshow

Lancome is now having Lancome Loves Colors roadshow at Pavilion starting from 18th - 24 July 2011. This roadshow is all about how to create our own eyes color story with existing Lancome eyeshadow collections.

And if you have been reading for my blog for a while, you all should know how much I love exploring with different colors for my eyes, cheek, lips and nails!

At the roadshow, everyday the first 40 customers are invited to enjoy free quick makeover and to get an instant photo. No purchase are required here!

Zamri Zainol the Lancome National Makeup Artist was doing the makeup demo for me :))

He said the correct 2 minutes aura application is to warm up our hands before applying products on our face using the tapping method for better absorption and not to spoil our existing makeup on our face since this is a mini makeover.

p/s: Mini makeover would means you would have existing makeup on your face and the makeup artist will do a touch up without removing your existing makeup and enhance your overall look

The 2 minutes aura application includes 3 steps

Step 1 : Activate
Prepare our skin with Lancome Genifique Youth Activator Serum

Step 2 : Protect
Unify and protect our skin with Lancome UV Expert GN-Shield High Potency Active Protection BB Base

Step 3 : Illuminate
Create a light and illuminate skin with Lancome New Teint Miracle Foundation

Let's check my color mood & see how my dress can match with my makeup.

And since I am wearing a purplish dress which is a cool color. So let's see what eyeshadow is Zamri going to choose to match with my purplish dress :D

Zamri chose Lancome Ombre Absolue Impact 3D eyeshadow palette in A 10 Rubis Delices that comes with pink and dark purple+maroon shade.

Makeup in process

See how much difference an eyeliner line made !!!

This is the complete night eye makeup which he created for me.

A close up.

I love how it looked... very deep and pretty and make my eyes look so much bigger!

This dramatic eye makeup is for night dinner/party makeup!

The highlight of event is also to introduced their latest Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara (Rm95) which is actually a treatment mascara which activates an immediate potential of visibly densified, stronger lashes, in better condition. The key ingredients are Madecasoside, an extract of Centella asiatica used in the care hair loss-prevention and known for its efficiency, and Arginine, known to help to re-densify fibers.

The brush is small and easy to comb through my eyelashes from root to tip

The secret i this Lancome Hypnose Precious Cells Mascara brush has an unique helix-shaped structure which has two flat sections to generously capture the formula and bathe lashes in its fortifying virtues; and two structured ridges for optimal lash fringe definition, magnified volume and spectacular lengthening.

It has done an excellent job seperating my eyelashes as well, give voluming and lengthening

p/s: Will do a review on this mascara without the eyeshadow so that you guys can have a clearer picture on :)

Products used in this makeover

Also used is this makeover is the new cute Yayoi Kusama Juicy Tubes which are limited edition, I tried the Swing Pink on my lips, it looks yummylicious on my lips!

Full front look

Full side look

And we get to pose with this colourful Sereni and Shentel hairband that was specially for this Lancome Loves Colors promotion!

Me in blue Sereni & Shentel hairband and my makeup creator Zamri Zainol!

p/s: His makeup skill never fail to impress me every time he lay his magic brush on my face!

Me & pretty Shannon who is in colorful floral dress!
