Cheapest Flights, Exotic Setting and Fun-Filled Adventure: Kuala Lumpur to Phuket

Ever since selecting holiday destinations online became massively convenient and affordable with wide range of the cheapest flights offerings, a lot of more exotic travel spots received a huge boost in its tourism sector. Thailand is one of the countries prospering from this, with Bangkok and Phuket being its top picks, each being a wonderful destination in its own respect.

Phuket in particular, has proven itself to be a favourite among travellers in general. With some of the cheapest flights out there from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket, it’s an all rounder sort of venue, with something to offer for everyone. Traveloka is one of the travel companies that offers amazing deals on Kuala Lumpur to Phuket air tickets that will leave you shook. Monthly promotions offered in their site will present you the most affordable price. From sheer entertainment to rich culture, thumping parties to nature walks, and vibrant urbanity to sandy thrills, they say there’s always a little bit more to discover.

In fact Phuket is the first ever overseas destination I flew to back in 2006 and I actually blog about how much I missed the places in Phuket

With some many places to visit and limited time to waste, here’s the list of top eight things you can expect to see when you take the next Kuala Lumpur to Phuket flights.

1. Phi Phi Island
I took this picture in Phi Phi island back in 2006!

Phi Phi Island As far as beauty and serenity is concerned, to give you an idea of how charming Phi Phi Island is, it was selected for Leo Dicaprio’s 2000 movie The Beach. This island is as magnificently pretty as the movie made it out to be, and is Thailand’s primary tropical tourist attraction. Rich in flora and fauna, it has ensured a reasonable minimum in commercial development to maintain its enchanting allure. It’s a popular choice amongst travellers as they get a little more than just a mere tan.

2. Phang Nga Bay
How I looked 12 years ago!

Phang Nga Bay Located in the north east side of the island, this bay highlights beautiful limestone cliffs that emerge, steadfastly, up from the emerald waters. Like Phi Phi Island, this little segment of Phuket also holds in it a glorious range of protected Flora and Fauna that can be watched through guided tours as part of its nature walk and hiking packages. There are two smaller islands off its coast that are worth checking out and considering the possibility of scoring the cheapest flights here, you might as well.

3. Old Phuket Town
This town is far from being a little quaint. It’s seen a rise in tourism-based businesses that caters to much of the traffic that comes in. Cool and vibrant shops of various types are available, especially where gifts and knick knacks galore are concerned. There’s a nice mix of modern architecture with portuguese colonial and chinese influenced heritage. It’s a pretty cool place to wander through during the day.
 4. Phuket FantaSea Show
Prepare yourself for an evening of wholesome fun and goofing around. A professional assembly of stunt artists, performers, animal acts and astounding pyrotechnics get their best show out in an ala cirque du soleil fashion; guaranteeing a show like you’ve never seen before. It’s a story told through a display of skill, dare and a experienced showmanship.

 5. Big Buddha
As one of the most sacred and revered landmarks, the Big Buddha attracts its fair share of visitors from all around the world. For both religious and sight-seeing reasons, this 45 meters tall humongous statue of a sitting Buddha sits at the top of Nakkerd Hills, overseeing Chalong, Kata and Rawai. The drive up to Nakkerd Hills is an experience in itself, with a majestic view of the island at your disposal.

 6. Wat Chalong and the Phuket Temples
Also in Chalong is one of Phuket's most important temples. A Buddhist temple with a seemingly endless glass decor adorning the building, it’s quite a sight for the everyday vacationer. There are fairs held during certain holidays where pop-out stalls sell the best of thai snacks and other local flavours. It’s an important component to any trip over in Phuket.

7. Phuket Viewpoints
Amazing view at Promthep Cape

As adventurous as some may be, there are those here for a little romance, and none does it better than those banking on a beautiful sunrises and sunsets. There’s an array of viewpoints available throughout Phuket, with the most popular being Promthep Cape. Some of these viewpoints also sell cocktails at the bars for those wanting to take it up a notch.

8. Muay Thai
Thailand has also made a name for itself in the martial arts arena with Muay Thai, and what amazing art it really is. Dedication and discipline that is portrayed for viewing pleasure through awe-inspiring matches between well-trained experts. It’s a performance of mind, body and spirit, showcased for visitors to help them understand why Thailand is a heavily visited destination.

With such excitement waiting for you there, avoid all the procrastination you might be feeling at the end of this entry. The cheapest flights promotion and deals are ticking and it will not wait for you anytime soon. The time to enjoy life is now and I'm actually really thinking of revisiting Phuket soon!

Pain Expectation During a Dermal Filler Treatment

The lines of age on your face may be beginning to show. You might be someone who rather has smooth skin for the rest of your life, or at least for the next ten years. Facelifts are relatively expensive, however. A more affordable solution that can clear your skin of wrinkles is dermal filler treatment. Though removing wrinkles is the most common reason patients request dermal filler treatment, it isn't the only reason. This procedure generally increases the volume and fullness of the skin on your face. It could be applied to many places on your face, including your lips and your cheeks.

With a sensitive practice, it is important to find a surgeon you can trust. Dr. Andres Bustillo is a certified facial surgeon who will honestly tell you whether or not you need a dermal filler treatment. If you don't have any wrinkles on your face, then there's no need for this procedure. Regardless, it is still important to learn more about this procedure before visiting Dr. Bustillo.

Brace Yourself for the Pain of the Procedure

This will not be sugar-coated. It is imperative you know this so as to mentally prepare yourself. There will be some pain during the procedure. The pain isn't major, though. Depending on where the filler will be applied, some areas of the face may feel less pain than others. In general, the procedure isn't that painful.

If you still happen to feel a little anxious, your skin is sensitive to pain, or are afraid of needles, then there are ways to reduce the pain. Some dermal fillers already come with anesthetics in the injection. Just in case there isn't, however, ice can numb your skin. It's simple but effective. There are also certain sedatives that can be used. A topical anesthetic is an ointment applied to the areas of the skin with which you are to be injected. There is also inhalation sedatives, also known as laughing gas. Ointment and gas are the least painful ways to relax your body and painlessly receive your injections.

Motivation to Overcome Pain

It is possible that you are not interested in receiving these drugs for the procedure. You want to tough it out but can't find the motivation for it. Luckily, mind over matter really does work. One common form of motivation can be looking forward to the end result. Imagine how you will look after the procedure.

To help this, you can look at before and after photos of other patients who have undergone this procedure. During your treatment, you could think of positive quotes about overcoming pain. One example is "Life hands us storms so we can paint rainbows" by Matshona Dhliwayo. Think of this over and over while the different areas of your face are getting injected. If thinking of quotes isn't the best type of thing to think of for you, then think other happy thoughts. One popular way of doing so is by "going to your happy place." Some can say that this sounds insane, at least the way media depicts it. However, this can be a good tactic to get your mind off of the pain. In your happy place, you could be thinking of the people you love, the location you are at, or something fun you like to do, just to name a few.

Natural Skin Care Before and After Procedure

Taking good enough care of your skin can generally help prevent and reduce the number of wrinkles you have. Fewer wrinkles mean fewer areas on your face to get injected and, therefore, less pain you have to go through. These everyday methods can not only help decrease the number of wrinkles on your face but also can leave your skin looking radiant:

  • daily consumption
  • perform stress-relieving activities
  • sleep

If you feel you need to change your entire diet just to maintain healthy skin, then you can put those feelings to rest. There are all kinds of foods you can add to your diet that isn't already a part of it. Vitamin C is important for reducing wrinkles. Usually, people think of oranges when they hear "vitamin C," but you could also get vitamin C from strawberries, kiwis, and broccoli on top of other fruits and vegetables.

A word you've probably heard of often involving healthy eats is antioxidants. An antioxidant prevents the damage of cells by removing oxidation. In case of skin, it helps inhibit inflammation in the skin, which can lead to wrinkling. Familiar foods with antioxidants include blueberries, dark chocolate, nuts, and purple grapes. If you're looking to add something more exotic to your diet, then look no further than goji and acai berries. They also contain antioxidants.

Contrary to popular belief, not all fats are bad for you. There are indeed healthy fats that assist you in making your skin look young and restored. What is bad for you, however, is sugar. In addition to many other health problems that can arise from eating too much sugar, it can also give you wrinkles. Avoid sugar as much as you can.

Stress increases the likelihood of wrinkles. Look for a stress-relieving activity you like. A couple of suggestions would be reading a book or playing certain video games. You could also try your hand at cross-stitching. The monotonous movement can help relax the mind. If you're looking to relax your body as well, then you can look to watching tv or just sitting and hanging out with your friends. Create a place that you call your stress-free zone. This could be in your home or a nearby area. You may even discover a new hobby. Be sure to do one of these stress-relieving activities before you go to sleep. That way you can have good-quality sleep. Also, be sure that you sleep enough. During sleep is when your skin can repair and rejuvenate itself.

Grand opening of Michael's Badminton Academy in Port Dickson & 8th MBA International Badminton Championship

Last weekends I took some time off to go Michael Badminton Academy in Port Dickson last weekends for 8th MBA International Badminton Championship since I really like badminton game and haven't really explore PD before ... so why not!

This is actually Michael’s Badminton Academy (MBA) latest badminton hall in Port Dickson – a full badminton facility equipped with modern and contemporary design and technology.

Photo with the bloggers and MBA's founder Mr Lee

There total of 18 courts here with court rental charges of RM9 for 3 hours if you join their membership.

There is even a store for you to purchase your sports need from rackets, shuttlecock to sports attire

All ready set for the grand opening of this Michael's Badminton Academy Grand Opening in Lukut, Port Dickson.

Apart from local badminton enthusiasts, MBA is also honoured to have the exceptional backing of its international counterparts from Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam that have continuously been supportive towards MBA’s International Tournaments over the years.

Mr Lee Kok Choong is the Managing Director of Michael Badminton Academy shared is opening speech. He said "At MBA, badminton is more than just a sport. We help people discover and improve. We help educate and inform. We watched as friendships develop and families bond. This is why is a one-stop badminton solutions provider which includes a full-fledge training academy and MBA tournaments always include special categories for families”.

This is Mr Michael Lee the founder of Michael's Badminton Academy. He is also an avid badminton player and always travel to play in International tournament.

It's MBA's vision is to be the hub of private badminton training and solutions at the international level, to produce world-class players. And so far they had held more than 10 major international tournaments over the years, hosting close to 10 thousand players from around the world. And training academy has trained almost 35,000 students via our junior development programmes and provided free training for underprivileged children via our Hope for Change badminton charity programme.

MBA also showed their gratitude by recognizing and awarding this 8th MBA International Tournament participants that are more than 80 years.

They also showed generosity by giving back to the communit. Two RM5000 cheques has been presented to the two charity homes.

This event was officiated by Dato' Abd. Khalid Bin Mat, YDP Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson, the launch of MBA PD kicked off with the 8th MBA International Badminton Championship 2016 from 11th to 13th March 2016.

Also in attendance of the official opening of MBA Port Dickson was Mr Ng Chin Chai, Secretary of Badminton Association Malaysia (BAM) and Mr Wu Jun Yan, President of the World Chinese Badminton Federation.

It's really competitive at the courts there! This is my first time to watch live badminton tournament and pretty exicting to watch .... I can hear the smashing echo...

This 8th MBA International Badminton Championship was held for three-day and it managed to attract over 450 local and international badminton players to Port Dickson to participate in 25 different categories.

The tournament includes all categories in an official tournament and also offers additional categories which are popular amongst families such as 3v3 (triples instead of just doubles) and family doubles (one parent and one child).

I was playing for Open doubles category.

Me in action...

My opponents are really good and I think they deserved to win and I really need to brush up my skill and stamina.

People say badminton game is for all ages and these MBA Tournament participants are from Taiwan proved it right. All of them here are above 80 years and there are two (one sitting on left and another middle) are 97 and 94 years old respectively. Seriously they don't look like one probably because of their active lifestyle of playing Badminton makes them looks healthy and young.

Spotted Xiong Guobao who used to be China national badminton team and he was like the star player back in the 80s. He is also known as the backhand king... damn impressive when I watched his Youtube videos.

Overall, Malaysia took the lead with 11 gold medals, followed by Indonesia with 5 golds and China, Taiwan and Singapore had 3 golds respectively. And Former Thomas Cup player, Mr Kwek Chiew Peng, 63, who also participated in the Championship walked away with first and second place for categories in men’s doubles (combined aged 110) and men’s doubles (combined aged 120) respectively.

After the match & opening, we went to cafe hopping and found this really nice looking hipster cafe Inns J Cafe that's near to the Michael's Badminton Academy!

Some of the food we tested! The price is pretty reasonable and taste is quite up to par to those in KLs ones.

Haha I also did not miss out visiting the Port Dickson's beach. Surprisingly it was so much cleaner now compared to few years ago! I might considering coming here to for a short weekends trip again to play badminton at Michael's Badminton Academy, eat seafood and take a nice stroll at the beach...

If you live in Lukut, Port Dickson or even in KL, you can make a nice weekend trip to visit this Michael's Badminton Academy. I was told in the future, there will be more facilities coming up such as gym and sauna...

Weekend visit at REO suites

Was browsing through my facebook and saw some of my bloggers are sharing about REO suites (http://reo.com.my/beta/) showroom and looks damn good leh! Out of curiosity went to check their blog since the name sounds kinds cool lah…

REO Suite is in fact located next to One City mall, remembered earlier this year I went to check out because I want to see this transparent roof top floor at The Sky at One City Mall, in USJ.

REO Suite is connected to the rest of Subang and KL City via the new LRT now so you cannot say it’s far lol! People often say Subang is “rich guy” area but surprisingly this REO Suite price is pretty good for a freehold title!

Sporting attractive versatile suites, REO Suite comprises studio and 2-rooms units with built-up sizes ranging from 370 sq ft to 609 sq ft. Perched on prestigious address of Subang USJ, REOSuites boasts an excellent vantage point and a panoramic view of the surroundings.

My mum always nag me and say you should save and invest in a property after so many years of working because that’s the best investment you will ever had! So I went to check out some of their show units over the weekends lah since I was free.

MCT Consortium office looks damn cool le! Not like the usual boring property sale gallery… I felt like I’m in google office (hahaha not that I been there before lah!) Looks so relax and fun there!

Nice right this REO suite! Just nice for yourself or even your partner. This can be your very own reading area :)

Design so stylish.. I can imagine me working from home here. My kind of own “google” office lol

Each and every REO suite has its own designs to suits everyone taste… and that’s me reading :p

Love the versatility of their design.

REO Suite also can be a small office; would be great if companies invest in such kind of office. I’m sure productive will be high when the employee is happy working in such an environment!

What actually caught my attraction is the rooftop pool ! I can imagine me sipping cocktail by the pool side… haha feel so “atas”.

Seriously I think the design caught my eyes. Very contemporary and the location is great! Downstairs got shopping mall, dining and entertainment (cinema) everything at one place. I don’t even need to drive out seriously. Can just wear my tee & shorts to go down for a Starwars movie. Also plus point for this… my girl friend Juli lives nearby so we can have midnight “yumchar” session as well!

Get a small unit first and then slowly upgrade….and price here are pretty affordable. Looking at how much the rental nowadays and property price increase like rockets… I think I will bring my my mum here to the showroom to see this place… After all mum knows the best!

Go check out the showrooms for yourself. For more info, visit http://reo.com.my/

No more shoes odour or smelly feet with Gran's Remedy!

People always say that give a girl the right pair of shoes and she can conquer the world. I got to agree with that!

I never thought of the importance of having the right pair of shoes until I wore my favourite Sketchers Go run 2 in Pink back in June . Honestly I never thought I could climb the 1200 steps to the top of Sigiriya Lion Rock (one of the must see Unesco site in Sri Lanka) BUT I DID!! This shoes is super light and flexible and it makes my climbing easier. I'm so happy that I made it up there because the view up there is super breathtaking!

So I wore the shoes while backpacking around Sri Lanka for a week. My shoes are exposed to the sun, rain and soaked in sweat. When I returned I felt my shoes are dirty and smelly but I didn't want to wash it because many people has told me that it will spoil the shoes (i.e the glue will come off). and I really do not want to risk that because I really like this shoes.

So I tried various method to salvage my shoes...from putting pandan leaves in the shoes to spray my favourite fragrance into it...hmm it doesn't really help to take away the shoes odour! At that point, I really upset and thought of tossing it away.

Well Shoes/Foot Odour is one of the most common problem which we don't really talk about in Malaysia, a lot of people are embarrass to even to admit that they have this problem. So what causes shoes odour? Well I google and found out there are 3 things that cause shoes odour

Bacteria – This is the number one cause of shoe odor. Once bacteria inhibit the shoes, it will automatically cling to the feet every time it is worn especially without socks on. The bacteria especially like to thrive on shoes if the shoes are moist.

Sweat – There are instances when people have naturally sweaty feet. This causes the bacteria to thrive and probably even multiply.

Other Foot Problems – There are times when the smell is caused by a wound that is infected. If in case you have a wound that needs to be given attention, give the attention that it needs immediately.

So I think my shoes odour problem are mainly are caused by dampness I got from the rain in Sri Lanka. I believe often when we came across this problem, we just throw away our shoes right? But it's such a waste...

So when I was offered Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet & Footwear (Original) from http://www.gransremedy.com.my/ to try, I immediately took up the offer  to see if it really works since I really ran out of ideas/methods to remove my shoes odour. And in their website they said Keep your smelly shoes fresh as summer breeze! I like that!

Gran's Remedy is made in New Zealand. Using a traditional remedy handed down through the generations since 1982, the Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet and  Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet & Footwear Footwear is a unique blend of powders that treats the problem of smelly feet or foot odour, rather than masking it.

Ingredients: Potassium Aluminium Sulphate,, Zinc Oxide, Zinc Undecylenate, Talc, Manuka Oil, Kawakawa Oil.

How to use Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet and Footwear ?

Instruction given : Sprinkle a spoonful (Spoon included in the pottle) of powder in each shoe daily for seven consecutive days or until the powder is used up. I personally felt 1 spoon is a lot for my small size shoes... hence I cut off a bit but still make sure the insole is all properly covered with powder

Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet and Footwear will leave your feet, shoes and socks odour-free for up to six months.

I realised that the first time I sprinkle the powder into the shoes the night before the smelly scent is not completely gone by the next morning however the insole shoes which was a bit damp become drier. So I continue to sprinkle powder on the shoes for the next 3 to 4 days... and I think the smelly scent completely gone.

During that period, you can actually wear the shoes directly with or without socks (as long as you do not have any open injury) and it actually help to remove foot odour  (if you have one). Just be careful of the white dust, make sure you are not walking on black carpet with your bare foot after wearing the foot (or you shall be leaving your white footprints behind lol).

I also put a test to my favourite flat! This might not be the best looking flat but it's the most comfortable flat I ever own seriously, I can walk hours in this! But problem with this flat is the insole material is not of breathable material hence my feet easily sweat in it which caused it stink after wearing it for a while.

For this shoes, I have to sprinkle the Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet and Footwear up to a week like that before the shoes odour is completely gone. I guess how long you need to sprinkle on the shoes really depends on the seriousness of the shoes odour and you can continue to sprinkle the powder up to two weeks consecutively. Plus a treated footwear should stay odour-free for up to six month.

Seriously Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet and Footwear is totally my life saver to my smelly shoes, now I can wear it without worrying someone will notice my shoes odour!

So you what if the product don't work on you? Well Gran's Remedy offers Money-Back-Guarantee policy because they confident that it will definitely works!

Gran's Remedy for Smelly Feet & Footwear (Original) is sold at RM84.30/50ml and currently they are offering 50% discount on all their range which includes Cooling & Scent Powder! They are also offering FREE shipping for orders within Malaysia (Sabah & Sarawak included).
