Review : Sasa's 1st Blogger's Tea Session

I was one of the lucky facebook's fans to be invited to Sasa's 1st Blogger Tea Sessions. Even before the event itself, we were told that there is no agenda behind this tea party (i.e no launching of their products or whatever) rather than it is just to get to know us (bloggers) session. Bloggers now play an important role as one of the social media marketing which will disseminate information via cyberspace. And Sasa has taken the 1st step to connect to us. Congratulation Sasa !

The event itself was held in Marc Residence and the theme is Paint the town in PINK.

Say hello to my new boyfriend Canon EOS500D

After 3 years down the road with my 1st boyfriend, I kissed him and say Bye bye. It's gone for now. I love him, very much in love with him. He was a good camera, because it gave me the most beautiful pictures I ever owned in my life.. I feel proud of myself.. But it was over, he was blur and cranky nowadays that I can't stand it anymore. And after long consideration I decided to trade him for a new boyfriend.

Say Hello to my Giant Boyfriend....Canon EOS 500D !!

I got him from the Femme City Expo in KL Convention Centre at a pretty good deal!

So officially I am a DLSR user and I'm sure there is plenty of (s*x)Skills to learn with him.

I bought this for RM2249 (after trade in) which came with full package(16gb sd card, tripod and pouch) and also extra original battery.

So I am officially bankrupt
and
I will spend my time molesting him instead of shopping.

Review : Restoran Sin Kee Steam Rice

Few months back when my boyfriend told me he is bringing me to a Chinese restaurant in Brickfields for dinner. I was like 0_0 ??? I am asking are you sure in Brickfields? Well I used to attend my classes there and all I remember is there are 4 Chinese food shop/restaurant and there is nothing special. And even now the food shop behind my college was turned into Old Town White Coffee cafe >.<
Note : To my Muslim readers, this is a non-halal post on food.

He said his colleagues told him many many times that this is a nice and must go place! So we went ! We found the restaurant located opposite Kl Sentral at the main road of Brickfields, which is a little bit further down after the monorail station. And if you walking from Monorail station, it is like two blocks away. And this is the only Chinese restaurant at the whole row of shops. So we were told by his colleague to order their signature steam rice (in Cantonese it's calls Man Fan).

So we ordered their signature pork steam rice after looking at their menu (in English/Chinese) . And they came like this with the bowl cover on top of the rice, don't look presentable to me.

But when they opened it , I was like WOW that is really a huge portion with lots of ingredients and it smells good too! Plain rice with generous amount of of pork, fishcakes, Chinese sausages, chicken, squid, omelette, cabbage, onions, lettuce and lots of dark yummylicious gravy .

This is only RM 7/plate!

If you do not take pork, then can order the Seafood Steam rice.

Inside with GENEROUS amount of big fresh prawns, squids, fishcake, onions, omelette, lettuce and lots of gravy!!! RM7.50 for this one .. worth the price !!

Try also their noodle soup, the soup is sweet because have lots of ingredients. RM6.50 or Rm7 ( cant remember it)

Also don't forget to try their daily soup, its very sweet, rich and nice! Also around RM6-RM7!

Something interesting to find out that although this is like a typical Chinese restaurant, the boss and the workers speaks very fluent English apart from Cantonese and they even write down order in English.

Restoran Sin Kee

Address : 194, Jalan Sambathan, Brickfields, 50470 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Direction to go : Drive a little bit further down after the monorail station. And if you walking from Monorail station, it is like two blocks away.

Tel : 03-2274-1842

Opening Hour : Lunch 12pm-2.30pm and Dinner 6pm-9.30pm

GPS Coordinate : N3 07.818 E101 41.265

p/s: I am going back to try to order their ala-carte dishes :D

I just bought Blackberry Bold 9700 !!! Love it !

I've been looking for a new phone for the longest time to replace my current old Samsung I450 (which I have been using for 2 years this coming 28 May) and me being me is very particular when comes to gadget. At last I settled down on this phone after reading lots of reviews and hearing so much goodness in them. And recently when my Hot Mama told me that her line contract will be renewed in Singapore, quickly I asked her to check out the price for Blackberry Bold 9700. It is such a good bargain that I immediately asked her to buy!

In Malaysia, the phone is being sold around RM1.9k and with contract signed with any telco company, the lowest price that i have to pay for the phone is more than RM1.2k with the highest commitment fee. In Singapore, my Hot Mama could get for S$400 (with 2 years line contract with the lowest commitment fee from Starhub). And my Hot Mama just received S$100 rebate voucher just before her line contract expires. And this means the phone is only S$300 !! Super good deal, how come Malaysian telco (Maxis, Digi & Celcom dont have such offer one!) And when she met me last weekends to passed me the phone, she told me she received another S$50 Robisons shopping voucher from Starhub for purchasing the phone. I was surprised, means my new Blackberry Bold 9700 is only S$250 = MYR 580 ONLY !!! Crazy crazy !! And I love this phone, the navigation is smooth and going online is super damn high speed because it compressed all internet data!! Am officially in love with it !

This phone comes with 4-5 different adapters for the charger for me to change depending on which country I travel, so crazy convenient!! And it has THREE manual books to read! Well I find it useless after browsing it, so now I am currently STUDYING online on the phone functions and accessibility ! Ah.. bye bye, I am going back to my journey of experimenting! So fun! I can tweet and reply comment anytime now!

So any Blackberry users out there ?

Can BBM me with liao !

p/s: Unfortunately the charger of the phone got problem cannot charge, got manufacturing defect I think. But is okay lah currently am charging via usb cable while my Hot Mama will back for an exchange! Thanks Hot Mama, you so hot !!!

FOTD : Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato Limited Edition Planet Cat Palette

For today special event aka my baby's birthday, I am taking out the precious Shu Uemura Limited Edition Cat Planet Palette from the Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato's Collection. Let's take a look of my makeup with this pair with my other cosmetics :)

For the Eyes

Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato Limited Edition Planet Cat Palette
ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Premier
Clinique Lash Power Mascara (Click here to read the review)
I Nuovi Browcake (Compact Eyebrow Colour) in Oak
Shu Uemura Painting Liner M Night Blue (gel eyeliner)

For the Face

Paul & Joe Moisturizing Foundation Premier SPH 12 PA+ in 02
Clinique Super Moist in Fresh Beige No 63
Nars in Super Orgasm blusher
Shiseido Macquillage Finish Powder in Translucent
Stila Convertible Color (Dual Lip & Cheek Cream) in Peony (Click here to read the review)
Stila Plumping Lip glaze in Berry Mint (Click here to read the review)

I applied the Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato Limited Edition Planet Cat Palette black eyeshadow at the outer of the eyelid, then gold on the middle eyelid and silver colour on the front eyelid. That goes the same at the lower eyelid. The eyeshadow colours no doubt is very pigmented and I only applied lightly.

And I think the gold eyeshadow is a kinda of weird combination in the palette, as the colour is slightly a bit warm compare to the other two cool colours. I still trying to see how to use the palettes into good use.

I must tell you that Shiseido Macquillage Finish Powder damn nice, very smooth and of course my makeup last whole day. Love it to maxxxxx !!!

Review : Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ UVA

Recently when Kiehls contacted me to do a review for their latest product, I immediately said YES given as I started using some Kiehl's product since last year ! I was given a full size of Kiehl's latest Ultra Light Daily UV Defense with SPF 50 PA+++ UVA (30ml) which is under their Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions range to try out.

And when I first saw this product with so many PA +++ behind the SPF 50 I want to find out what differences does it make between PA++ and PA+++. So I googled and found out while SPF refers to the sun protection factor, PA refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers against UVA rays. More plus symbols mean more protection from UVA and UVB rays.

Some information which I read from online

UVA Rays
This kind of radiation is actually the major contributor in having skin cancer if you get to have more constant exposure to it throughout the year It has the ability to go deeper into your skin than UVB radiation.

UVB Rays
Its main target would be your epidermis, or the outer layer of your skin. It is also the primary reason why you get sunburn. UVB rays are also considered to be the major cause of squamous and basal cell carcinoma, and a significant contributor of melanoma.

And most glass used for windows blocks UVB but not UVA

So this product protects against not only UVA but also UVB rays.

Little introduction of Kiehl's and information about this item that obtained from the box

This is made in France, and in case you can read French , this is for you.

The ingredients

This is PABA free

What Does PABA-free mean?
Apparently PABA stands for para-aminobenzoic acid. It is part of Vitamin B-complex and is used in some sunblock lotions. PABA can cause allergic reactions. Ironically, the allergic symptoms resemble sunburn. Since this lotion is PABA-free, there is less chance of an allergic reaction.

Hence chances of you having allergy reactions with this is product is quite low or none! ^-^

It comes in a form of tube

I squeeze out a little to try to try , well it has a very very mild pleasant smell and the texture is between lotion and cream but more towards a lotion.

Then I started to rub gently it into my skin and finally lightly tap it in to make it settle like I usually do.

My comparison with my existing sunblock Kose Freshel White C UV Day Protector SPH 35 PA++, to my surprise Kiehl's absorption was much more better and that it has no greasy feeling on my face even though the SPH was higher.

There is no trace of white colour remain on my skin after the absorption has taken place quite immediately after I rubbed it in unlike my existing sun protector which is slightly white tinted. This sun protector gives me matt finish without me looking like glossy paper.

And what I really love , that because the absorption works so well (only within few seconds) that when I touched my skin again, it felt as if I have not applied anything on it. And this is really the most ultra light sun protector I have ever used !

Of course putting it on my hands to try is just indoor testing. And of course I have put this on for 1-2 weeks and went out with this. is.

Here are my thought after using it for outdoor
  • Honestly, I feel particularly comfortable as I do not feel the heat directly on my face even though I was under the hot sun and I think this must be because that it is SPF 50 PA+++. Before I learn how to put on sun protector properly 2-3 years ago ( or where I used to be not bother to put it on ) I always feel that my face is burning under the hot sun, even though I am using an umbrella. And once a skincare consultant told me it is because I am either not using sunblock on my face or the protection that the sunblock given is not good enough. And at that time my pigmentation is starting showing on my face. So SPF 50 PA+++ is totally perfect for me because I hate to carry umbrella nowadays, too much trouble.
  • Even I sweat, the sun protector does not come out melt and feel greasy on my face. This is very important as I will sweat quite a lot especially during hot weather like this.

And even most of the times I'm inside air condition room, my skin are not drying because it contains glycerin which draws moisture up through skin layers and slows or prevents excessive drying and evaporation. Which is just perfect for people with dry skin like me !

As a summary, the product has 4FREE that is
  • Fragrance Free
  • Colour Free
  • PABA Free
  • Oil Free

And my 4LOVE for this sun protector will be
  • The excellent absorption that takes place within few seconds!
  • Non greasy. Skin feeling as if nothing is on.
  • SPF 50PA+++ UVA just excellent for Asian weather ! I wish to go to Bangkok with this!
  • Fragrance free and Colour free too , no funny smell or colour!

So I guess other than the price is slightly pricey at RM140 for 30ml , this product is totally my love.

My Star Rating

p/s: Hey girls quickly run into Kiehl's store to try out this and ask for sample without any vouchers/coupuns ! I am not sure if the samples are out but they are one of the brands that believe in giving samples for customers to try before buying after personalized skin consultation. So why not give a try ? And Kiehl's Malaysia is in facebook now ! Join for more updates !
