Review of Olay Regenerist Miracle Duo range after 4 weeks!

It’s every women dream to look beautiful.

Be it your dream V-shape face, big eyes, sharp nose, luscious lips or attractive hair, I’m sure all of us yearn to look younger than our age. Well perhaps that’s the reason they said a woman’s age is a secret. And often when someone compliment us that “Hey you look younger than your age, what’s your secret?”. Well you can’t help but show a beaming smile to the person and say “Awww.... thank you, I shall buy you a meal!” Sounds familiar? 

I’m not sure about you but I stand inches away from the mirror to closely examine my face every now and then. Deep inside I was asking myself, where does this pigmentation, dark spots or wrinkles come from? Well I have tried all my life to take care of my skin so that I don’t age too fast. After all, the first thing a person sees when they meet you is your face (i.e skin). I’m so thankful for the creator of makeup because it makes me looks beautiful. There is a lot of things that can be concealed under makeup... Dark spots, pigmentation, uneven skin tones, dark eye circles etc, but do you realise you can never hide your wrinkles or lines? And wrinkles are a tell-tale sign of aging.

With the amount of pollution we face today, we are actually guilty of our skin’s aging process. We cannot stop the aging process but we can slow it down a little bit for sure. The natural aging process is called intrinsic aging, while the aging process caused by external factors is called extrinsic aging. Both show up visibly with the same results, but extrinsic aging is something we can fight against.

We all know we cannot stop our skin from aging but we can slow down the process, at least to reduce the signs of aging with the right anti-aging skincare. The new Olay Regenerist skincare range promises to renew from within, plumping surface cells for a dramatic transformation without the need for fillers.

In this Regenerist Miracle Duo range, there are a total of three products namely; Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence, Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Day Cream and Regenerist Mirco-Sculpting Night Cream.

Honestly I haven’t been using Olay products for the longest time, I think the last time I was using them was during high school because it’s fairly affordable and my mum was using it. Over the years, Olay has improved their formulation and packaging and here I’m trying out this new Regenerist Miracle Duo range that an anti-aging skincare range that hydrates and renews to firm and lift, helping to retain skin’s youthful surface contours. In addition, they are fragrance free as well! Anyway, I have tried it for 4 weeks, so I’m going to share my thoughts here with you girls!

Olay Regenerist Miracle Boost Youth Pre-Essence (RM79.90/40ml) is designed to boost the penetration of anti-aging actives of your moisturizer 2 times more to increase skin cell metabolism and renewal for stunning, youthful skin that looks up to 10 years younger.

Olay Scientists and their research partners have combined the most advanced cellular bioenergetics tools with genomic, proteomic, and human skin modelling to identify anti-aging ingredients that can accelerate anti-aging results for faster, more noticeable benefits :- 

• Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) : Boosts surface cell metabolism and renewal, Reduces wrinkles. 
• Amino Peptides  (Pro-Collagen molecules): Helps repair skin, Reduces wrinkles & Firms
• Lys’lastine (natural extract of Dill seeds): Enhances Skin elasticity

 Its unique auto-dropper packaging ensures the exact and right amount of the pre-essence is delivered in every single application. For ideal results, apply two-pump dosage per use. 

Apply product twice a day after toner, and before serum and moisturiser. Just un-screw the cap to automatically draw product into the dropper. Press the pump button to dispense the pre-essence.

The texture is gelish watery and easily absorbable. I did a skin moisture test with this alone and the result is amazing; my skin moisture jumps from 23.2% to 85.5%! I really like this product because my skin does not feel sticky, but instead very soft and supple.

Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream (RM99.90/50g) is a day cream. It’s formulated with the most concentrated Amino-Peptide Complex and Hydra-Firming Complex to :- 

• Renew skin’s surface layers for smooth texture and refined pores 
• Reduces lines and wrinkles with moisturisation 
• Exfoliates for smooth skin 
• Hydrates to help plump and firm skin

Although it looks creamy, but I assure you it is actually not the case. The texture is gelish and absorbs fairly fast into my dry skin once I massage it in. 

Using your fingertips, massage a small amount on the face and neck in an upward circular motion, focusing on areas like the brow and jaw line, which need more support (i.e lifting). My face feel amazing smooth and plump at this point. Even after spending several hours alternating between being outdoors and in an air conditioned room, my skin still feels moist without feeling sticky.

For night time, I used Olay Regenerist Mirco-Sculpting Night Cream (RM99.90/50g). It’s said to plump & firm skin, provide smooth & supple skin texture and enhance radiance. The cream is in transparent milky colour and texture is creamy gel-like. It’s a little heavier than the day cream. My skin feels soft, smooth and supple after applying this. As the texture is a little bit heavy, you do not have to apply a lot, yet my face feel so fresh and hydrated the next morning! More savings yay!

So what I do every night is to have a mini pampering massage of few minutes for myself. I take a small portion from the jar and warm up using my palm before applying to my entire face. Stroke from your forehead, down your cheeks and over to your neck. After a few minutes of gentle stroking, I use gentle pressing method to enhance absorption of product more efficiently. And please don’t forget to do the same to your neck because it’s the first sign of aging that often people neglected. 

Massages like this help to improve blood circulation and lymph circulation, which can enhance the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to cells. This makes the cells healthier and more efficient. Remember do not use excessive pressure or pull on your skin, soft, gentle movements are sufficient!

After using for 4 weeks of using Olay Regenerist Miracle Duo range, I’m pretty impressed with it. My skin looks more radiant, soft, plump and smooth and that’s the sign of healthy skin right? I think the healthier living lifestyle that I’m trying to adopt contributed to all this as well. I try to sleep earlier nowadays, have less oily & spicy food and have a mini walk to the lake nearby my house with my dog while playing Pokemon. 

Well I feel as we aged, we need to take care extra effort to look good inside out. And feeling beautiful is really powerful because it gives positive vibes to ourselves and people around us. I understand that as a woman living in this era, there are a lot of obstacles and pressure we are facing every day. But the fact that we feel beautiful is a proof that we have a lot of confidence in ourselves. Let’s forget how people are going to judge us because each of us has our own true beauty hidden within all of us. We are unique and there is no one else who will looks exactly like us. Review : Serralon Nutraderma Serum for your face and hair scalp!

Late last year I received Serralon Nutraderma Serum as review. I have to admit the packaging is not as fancy as those you see in counter. It's very practical and interesting because this serum can be applied on your face and your hair scalp! (I bet you haven't heard any serum can do this!)

Serralon Nutraderma Serum is a natural product and contains a Cultured Coconut Concentrate “C3” and aloe vera which is a holistic functional food for skin that is chemical free and zero toxic!

How to use Serralon Nutraderma Serum on your skin or scalp

Hair fall or scalp problems: You can apply SNS on your scalp at night or before you go off to sleep. Leave it on for the night and wash it off with shampoo the next morning. You can do this once or twice a week. For more serious issues, you might need to apply it on a daily basis for a week. And slowly reduce the application to once or twice a week. Usually for hair fall, you can see the improvement after the first or second application.

- Not only I applied on scalp, I put it as leave-in treatment to repair split ends. It works amazingly to moisturize your scalp and soften and give a healthy glow to my hair.

Acne or pimples: Apply SNS daily. At least once a day on your acne or pimples. You might go through a healing process where the pimples or acne will get bigger but this is normal.
- I tried this when I had some pimples during PMS and true enough pimples gone bigger but it heals faster as well.

Cuts or wounds: Apply SNS at least twice a day on affected area. 

- I have tried this... ah this is really  effective! Healing works faster too...

As moisturiser: Use twice daily. One pump is more than enough to be applied on your face. If you use it at night, your skin will feel supple the next morning. Also highly recommended for cold and dry weather. 

- I usually use this as serum and layer it with moisturizer because I have really dry skin... and amazingly it does not feel oily and works well to keep my skin supple next morning! 

Serralon Nutraderma Serum is oil in texture , it's really easy absorb into the skin when I absorb on my skin. This product has a quite strong scent but it does not bother me.

I have applied Serralon Nutraderma Serum for a month and one very obvious different I felt is my skin is really smooth and supple and I really like how my skin glows from within. I can't say pigmentation is entirely gone because it has not ; probably I have not use long enough to lighten it. Scars of my pimple during my PMS does really heals more quickly that usual. 

I am now even confident to walk out of house without makeup :P 

I have hair fall and dry split end problem ever since I back my hair early of this year (yes I totally regretted it!) So I had tried to save my hair by applying Serralon Nutraderma Serum on the hair scalp the night before before washing off next morning.

I never thought I would like this local brand..but this non fancy product is actually working well on my skin and hair plus price is pretty reasonable to try as well.  Seriously...I love the wonders of coconut!

Innisfree Beauty Picnic with Jeju Sparkling Mineral Line

I had an amazing time at Innisfree Beauty Picnic a while ago in Organica Lifestyle in Bangsar! Wanted to write about it earlier but was really busy so here I am finally posting this up! A few days before the event, I was told to wear my picnic outfit. Honestly I never been to a real picnic in Malaysia because weather is so damn hot and feel a bit insecure with our security. So I put on my self-imagine picnic #ootd to go to the event, wearing something casual and a hat thinking we will be having picnic under the sun! Ahh... thank god I arrived at the venue and it's fully air-conditioned!

Can you agree with me that this place was decorated perfectly to fit to the event theme? Lots of flowers, green grass, picnic basket.... ah for a moment  I thought I was in Jeju having a picnic!

Before we start with our beauty picnic with Innisfree, Johnny Nam, Brand Manager of Innisfree shared his short welcome note with us. Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral contains 3 types of carbonic acid and 13 types of hot spring minerals which convey active ingredients to the skin.

I have been to hot spring no wonder my skin was always soft and moist after soaking, probably due to the carbonic acid. Interesting to see Innisfree is using hot spring water mineral to make into a skincare range cos I never seen any brands has use this ingredients.

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral has a total of 6 products that ranges from cleansing powder, toner, essence, lotion, moisturiser (cream and lotion type) and mist. 

I wore my cute Innisfree headband and I'm ready to try out the products and share a little bit more on each range. So are you ready? Let's go!

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Powder (RM8.00/30g)

This is a cleansing powder with Jeju sparkling mineral water. Revitalize skin with this easy-to-use  carbonic acid powder pack that clears and moisturises skin, giving skin relaxing spa-like treatment with carbonic acid hot spring water at the comfort of home. The fizzy bubbles form as the sparkling mineral powder dissolves into water, providing a sparkling massage effect.

It also contains Jeju tangerine peel extract that cleanses away any dirt left inside our pores, giving instant brightening effect after washing the face. 

How to use : Get a big bowl that can fit your face. Fill in the bowl with water with about 1.5 to 2 liter of water. Add in Sachet 1 (blue pack) ad wait until it dissolves. Add sachet 2 (white pack) and stir in the water to make fizzy bubbles. 

Soak your face into the water for 2-3 minutes or wash your face using both hands to feel the effect of sparkling massage. Rinse off your face with lukewarm water.

First time trying cleansing powder in this way, would say totally unique experience. I felt my skin is refreshing and softer after soaking into this. And really fun to do! 

Note : If your skin turn red or flushing after soaking don't be alarmed because your skin is having blood circulation.  It will calm down after a while.

Innisfree The Green Tea Seed Serum (RM90/80ml)

One of their best seller of all time, I have been wanting to try this! This water-like texture, the serum  is made of 100% fresh green tea instead of water, and able to boast a five-times-better moisturising power after use and increases the moisture content inside the skin up to 66% while decreasing the amount of dead skin cells by 76% - keeping your face effortlessly crystal; clean. The light green tea scent is really pleasant.

You have realised that I have put on serum first on my 2nd step of skincare instead of lotion. This is recommended by Innisfree because Green Tea Seed Serum will act as a booster. It will help to allow deep penetration and absorption of other skincare products into your skin.

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Skin (RM79/200ml)

A deep hydration skin toner loaded with 88% sparkling mineral water that provides a powerful boosting effect. The ethanol-free toner (yay it's alcohol free!) is penetrated fast into the skin to smoothen the skin texture and to enhance the absorption of skincare products in the following steps. The acid balanced formula helps maintain a healthy skin by restoring the imbalanced pH after face wash. 

You can either use cotton to apply this or just use your hand to apply this. I prefer the latter method and to pat all goodness from the Mineral Skin onto my skin directly. As there is no alcohol in the product, it's really gentle to the skin. The texture is extremely light and it's water. And the faint tangerine scent is really refreshing. My skin feel soft but not sticky!

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Essence (RM110/70g)

This contains 73.6% of sparkling mineral water. With the help of Micro Sparkling Technology, micro-sized carbonic acid bubbles that are smaller than pores are formulated to best fit onto the skin while facilitating penetration of active ingredients, making skin clean, clear and moist. Just like spa therapy, this delivers 5-in-1 intensive moisturising effect that helps with 5 skin concerns such as skin texture, balance uneven skin tone, keep skin firmness, strengthened the skin barrier and promotes blood circulation through massage.

This is the first time I see serum in foam texture but it still absorb nicely onto the skin when I apply it on my skin. Love how my skin feel soft and supple!

Innisfree Jeju Sparkling Mineral Cream (RM110/50g)

This Sparkling Mineral Cream is infused with 69.9% sparkling mineral water. The lightweight translucent fluid texture absorbs fast into the skin to form double moisture layer that remains all day long. The skin-friendly ceramide is stabilized in a fluid form, building a protective film to strengthen the moisture barrier on skin.

To those who has oily or combination skin, you can use Mineral Lotion instead which is lighter than the cream. Personally I felt the cream texture is really light and easy to absorb.

Innisfree Sparkling Mineral Mist (RM52/80ml)

To those who are looking for instant and intense hydration, you can try Sparkling Mineral Mist which has 90% sparkling mineral water. It resolves dryness while supplying minerals to keep skin moisturized anytime and anywhere. 

Love how the mist texture is really fine and absorb onto the skin nicely providing a quick moisturising boost. Although this mist has oil extracted from coconut as one of the ingredients to help to retain moisture on skin, it does not leave the skin oily after spraying the mist.

Tips of spraying mist, make sure you spray at 20cm away from the skin while keeping your eyes  and mouth close..haha see I forgot to close mine and tasted some of the mist..
