I know I am on shopping ban ! But this is too tempting and is Coach...!!!!! Yeh I don't own a coach ! Always when I save the money intending to buy a luxury handbag but I end up spending on something else.. skincare and cosmetic ! Review : Ocean Potion Sun care reviews

10 days ago I received products from Ocean Potion for review purposes. I was given Face Potion SPF 45 and Anti-Aging Sunblock SPH50 Ultra Light. And I am so excited to try this out !!!

Introduction of Ocean Potion
Founded in 1989 by Mr. Gary DeAngelo, Sun & Skin Care Research Inc. (SSCR) began in Virginia Beach, Virginia selling to beach stores and pool decks.

During these first years, the Ocean Potion name and product line began flourishing in beach stores, resort hotels and pool decks from Virginia Beach to Myrtle Beach, SC and continued to penetrate beach towns along the East Coast. In 1994, Mr. DeAngelo, C.E.O. and owner, moved the corporate and manufacturing facilities to Florida, the state where many sun care products are conceived.

Ocean Potion product line is produced in-house which is in Floraida and all the products selling worldwide (includes Malaysia) is shipped all the way from Florida, USA. And in Malaysia, Trinity Mercantile (M) Sdn Bhd is the sole distributor for Ocean Potion Sun and Skin care since 2009

I have been using these two products for the past 10 days and here I how I felt about the products.

Appearance : Ocean Potion® Face Potion SPF 45 in Clear Zinc Oxide comes in a plastic jar. Not very convenient to bring for traveling..

Texture : Sun care comes in cream form however its not heavy or very sticky like normally cream.


Absorption: Although it is in cream type but once apply on the skin, it absorbed into the skin quickly within minutes. The texture itself is very similar to Hazeline Snow Moisturizing Cream. I have the cream on whole day, and my face is not oily and my makeup stay on quite well too.

Benefit :

1) The sun care protects against UVA and UVB sun rays.

2)Best about this product I would say that all woman would love to hear is that ALL Ocean Portion products is PABA free, mineral oil free and therefore it will not clog pores !!!!

3)And another plus point is that this product is very water resistant, once apply it claims that it retains SPH after 80 minutes in water and perspiring which means the sunblock would not come out when I sweat or swim. Although it stated that it can be removed with water and cleanser however I would personally recommend one to use makeover remover (either cleansing oil or makeup removal oil) to make sure the product is completely remove from the skin.

Disadvantages :

First is the product is a sunscreens as stated in the jar as opposed to sunblock. And personally I would prefer to use sunblock than sunscreen as "sunblock reflects UV rays versus absorb them. Sunblock does not contain the same harsh chemicals that are in sunscreen" (read the details here).

And second, I prefer products that comes in a tube rather than a jar as I do not like my fingers digging into the products for hygienic purposes. And would appreciate if the product would at least provide a spatula for this reason. Other than that , I am glad to bring this sunscreen to my holiday (especially beach one) as it is water resistant and non greasy!

This Ocean Potion® Face Potion SPF 45 is priced at RM18.80 for 1.0 Oz (so affordable!!!!!)

Pros: PABA free, mineral oil free and therefore it will not clog pores, light weighted cream, non greasy and non-comedogenic.

Cons: Comes in a jar and its a sunscreens as opposed to a sunblock

Repurchase : Maybe

This is the second product I got Ocean Potion® Broad Spectrum, Anti-Aging Lotion SPF 50 which provides higher sun protection against UVA I, II and UVB sunrays.

Appearance : It comes in a very handy squeeze out tube form.

Texture: In cream form, very light weight. It absorb into skin almost immediately. Non greasy and feel the skin has nothing on. And after whole day of having the sun care on, it did not make my face oily or shiny.

Smell: Extremely pleasing fruity smell like orange citrus smell.. I love this smell!!!

Benefit

1) And Ocean Potion is the first and only brand in the market that have Vitamin D in their suncare product. It gives skin protection from having risk for heart disease, bone problems, and diabetes due to lack of Vitamin D. Pros : Consists Vit A, C, D and E and Seaplants extract , PABA and Mineral oil free, high SPH, non-greasy, smell really good and really affordable for an anti aging sun care!

Cons : None

Repurchase : Definitely!

My Rating : 4.5/5 stars (If its Paraben free, I would definitely give a 5 stars!)


And one thing about Ocean Potion sun care is that is really affordable that anyone could afford as it ranges from RM12.80 to RM46.80. And some of it smells very fruity.. yummy!

The lead is softer compare to Empro 1st generation eyebrow Slim Cut Dual Lead Brow Auto Pencil. I just do one stroke of the swatch and can get the intensity of the color above. And the color that I got is e3 Golden Brown and suit my eyebrow color perfectly.

I followed the instruction stated on the product box i.e start applying the inner corner of the brow using the thick lead and lightly stroke upwards to the highest part of the arch. Then use the thin lead to stroke from the arch to outer corner of my brow.

As you can see on the above picture, I applied too much eyebrow color until it looked unnatural and fierce.

The eyebrow here look more natural right ? Because I used the brush to comb my eyebrow to tone down and even up the color here.

Between the 2 eyebrow pencil Slim Cut Dual Lead Brow Auto Pencil which I reviewed earlier and this Triangular Eyebrow pencil, I personally prefer the later one because:-

1)The triangular shape of the lead make the whole application of eyebrow become easier, especially when doing the arch of each of my eyebrow

2) The texture of the eyebrow pencil is softer, so I do not need to apply pressure when applying it

3) The brush that comes with it is equally as important as the lead as it helps to lighten and even up the color of the eyebrow after application

This is made in Korea and it comes as a dual lead, 2 colors , one soft and one hard.

The texture of both the leads are quite hard and the color came out light. And need to re-apply to get the intensity of the color. This is an auto twist out eyebrow pencil which you do not need to sharp it. I tried to rub and wash off the swatch, it's smear proof as it claims!

This is how slim & sharp the lead is .

Word of advice, don't twist out too long the lead when drawing your eyebrow, cause it will cause the lead to break.

My say
As I just shaped my eyebrow by Shu Uemura, the shape of my eyebrow is still in good condition. And I just need to touch up by applying short stroke on my eyebrow (apply stroke by stroke slowly following the direction of my eyebrow growth) to to fill up the color gap.

However I took some time to fill up my eyebrow because the lead is hard. And the good thing about this is I will not get over excited in filling too much color on my eyebrow. And I guess this Empro HD Slim Cut Dual Lead Brow Auto Pencil will be perfect for people with very thin eyebrow shape as the lead is very thin and sharp and this will give precise application. And I think my eyebrow color looks very natural after application.

Tips : One SA told me before that if we want to fill up the gap in our eyebrow easily using any eyebrow pencil, always remember to powder up a bit on the eyebrow areas (i.e apply a thin layer of loose powder or powder ) as the eyebrow pencil color do not work on sticky or wet surface.
