Review & Swatch : Make Up For Ever AQUA 2014 Collection

People often asked me do you makeup when you go for your holiday... 

My answer : Of course ... I definitely want to look good in my pictures! 

Wait, what about summer beach holiday? 

Is our normal waterproof good enough to withstand the summer heat and water splashing ?

To be honest not really. Because some of them are waterproof not smudge proof  and some are long lasting but are not waterproof..(sigh!). And if we go to the beach with that, the chances of having melted makeup with smudges are pretty high (if you are not careful!). Knowing that I would be soaking under the sun the whole day and out at the seas ...I on;t know what makeup to bring to Boracay.

And just happened a week before I went to Boracay, I was invited to Make Up For Ever AQUA Collection 2014 launch where they introduced new AQUA Smoky Extravagant (waterproof version), AQUA Liners (new colours), AQUA Lip (new colours) and Mist & Fix (new formulation) to the existing Aqua family this summer.

I was thrilled because I have been hearing so much about them and finally I am able to be introduced to this range properly. 

I was told that Make Up For Ever AQUA collection is 100% waterproof, 100% smudge proof, 100% Crease Proof and they are used by Olympics athletes and models for underwater shooting. So let see the  new products in details before I tell you if they really work! 

Make Up For Ever Face & Body Liquid Make Up (if not mistaken RM150)  is not something new. But to me this is something new is because I never came across waterproof liquid foundation! Had yet to try it out myself but today told me even though it looks watery and sheer when you do swatching but the finishing is pretty matte and coverage is pretty high. I might need to go and check out this

Make Up For Ever Aqua Lip : RM80 / 1.2g

This Summer, Make Up For Ever introduced  5 new AQUA LIP shades that gives sherbet tinted lips. The Aqua Lip kiss stays perfectly synced with the Aqua Rouge ultra long wearing waterproof lipstick shades. I have tried spraying water on the swatches and rubbing it hard to smudge but unsuccessful. 

Now I can tell you yes Make Up For Ever Aqua Lips is 100% waterproof and 100% smudge-proof !

Make Up For Ever AQUA Liner : RM95 / 1.7ml

AQUA Liner is the ideal ally for high-precision doe-eyes. This summer 4 new shades have been added to the 15-color palette.

Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge - RM100 / (2.5ml on each side)

Aqua Rouge is a 2 step product as it comes in a double-ended packaging consisting in 2 bottles connected by a black metallic ring. One side gives matte, high-coverage color and another end clear glossy finishing. Aqua Rouge is extremely stable and long lasting. 

Available in 12 colors, each shade of Aqua Rouge corresponds to a shade of Aqua Lip and latest shade for this summer is #03 Light Rosewood.

From my swatch, though the colour looks a bit dark but it looks quite nicely on my lips.

Mist & Fix - RM115/ 125ml (Comes in 30ml travel size also)

Do note that this should be the last step of makeup, spray after you have done your makeup to set and seal the makeup. Remember to hold Mist & Fix an arm's length away from face and spray and allow time to dry.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara (Waterproof) - RM100/7ml

Personally I have tried it out and I love this mascara!!!

Looks how it separates my eyelashes nicely defined and give the extra lengthening effect! Am happy to confirm that it felt lightweight on my eyes and it's waterproof and smudge proof too!

As the AQUA makeup range is really waterproof, I was recommended to use Sens'eyes to remove my swatches. OMG totally fall in love with this because it melts the makeup immediately and removing it is so easy peasy! Besides this is a alcohol free product!  If I remembered well., this is about RM85. I am planning to get this next!

I brought the whole Make Up For Ever I love AQUA collection to Boracay to try out so that I could give you a proper review here.

That's me at Willy Rock in Station 1 of Boracay.. my makeup looks so nice because it stay on nicely, thanks to  Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix which is freaking awesome and this is a must have for our hot & humid weather!

Remember to keep the base clean, for eg your lips free from lip balm so that it would stay longer. And for your face it got to be free from your skincare to make sure your foundation can stay on the skin properly... this is usually for models shooting under water. However I could never skip my moisturizer and sunblock for sure! 

My look after swimming in the sea, can you see the AQUA Liner and AQUA Rouge stay on so nicely! Amazing!

Personally I think Make Up For Ever AQUA series live up to the hype! It's really pigmented and easy to apply. And people with oily eyelid would appreciate the water.

My favourite product from Make Up Forever AQUA 2014 collection would be the AQUA Liner, AQUA Lips, Mist & Fix and Smoky Extravagant Waterproof Mascara !  If you ask to recommend which is the MUST try, it would be either the Smoky Extravagant Waterproof Mascara or Mist & Fix!

Samsung Galaxy Life : Movie Magic under the Stars in Bukit Kiara with Starlight Cinema

Have you ever watch movie under the starry starry night ?

It was my first time last Sunday when I went for Starlight Cinema screening at Bukit Kiara Equestarian & Country Resort. 

All thanks to Samsung Galaxy Life apps (which I installed from Google Play Store) which is an exclusive passport to exclusive privileges, interesting app recommendations, content features, and celebrity interviews, 

I managed to redeem a pair of tickets for The Sound of Music movie screening by showing my phone to the ticketing person, where he will tap Redeem!

It's FREE and it’s as simple as that!

And because this is an outdoor movie screening, basically you just need to bring a mat (with your fluffy pillows if you want) along so that you can sit comfortably on the floor! Although you can bring outside food & drink but seriously why bother when there are FREE food to redeem using Samsung Galaxy Life apps?

The Sound of Music is a very old movie made in 1965 starred by Julie Andrews and this is one of my all time favourite musical film movie, I remembered watching this when I was young and I absolutely love all their songs inside!

Before the movie starts, I saw there are a lot of stalls selling various foods and drink! 

Even got Coffea Coffee mini bar too!

Tiger Translate Party where Music meets Art!

I had a pretty rough day last Saturday, I lost my laptop again :( Anyway to forget the pain I went to Tiger Translate party to forget the pain and now I'm praying to find back my laptop (if that's ever possible). Back to the party, it was held in the heart of Kuala Lumpur... ie Kenanga City Mall! 

What is Tiger Translate if you asked me? 

Tiger Translate aims to celebrate global creativity through the exposure to different cultures and experiences. Bringing creative Artists from the East and West together, we showcase their artistic collaborations spanning the areas of music, design and art, fashion, dance, photography and more. And since 2005, Tiger Translate has been showcasing the best collaboration of music and arts in various cities including New York, London and Dubai. 

Hence I was really lucky to see a few of really nice piece of arts at the entrance of the event, however I was late to catch graffiti artiste Kenji Chai, tattooist Lynda Chean with graphic designers Tsu Ann and Jayme from Kickatomic doing live art project!

Thanks to Manoah, I got a pair of VIP tickets to the party where Editors, Chochukmo, Manic Sheep, Mad August, OJ Law and Indiego & Co is going to rock the stage at Tiger Translate in Kuala Lumpur!

Before we start drinking, we managed to grab burgers and nanchos to fill up our tummy! And the food is pretty good because they are from The Bee! 

And the cool thing, no cash is involve in the party (which is safer!) and basically each of us is given a RFID tag when we enter and you can top up money using credit card to buy food & drink! Talking about convenience!

We managed to catch the amazing performance by Editors! 

 Managed to take some really close up picture!

 Tom Smith's voice is unique, he is really talented too!

 Besides concert going on at the front, at the back there is trampoline where party goers can jump for free!

I was trying to be artistic also! So much fun messing with the paints while spraying on the Tiger Beer bottle!

 

It was an epic night of art and music right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and all thanks to Tiger Beer I had so much fun at Tiger Translate party as I managed to release my stress and forget my sorrow for a while! 

And one day ....I will ROAR again when I recovered from my pain!

I was actually quite shocked to see Radiant Bronze colour when I first swatched it beside my Laura Mercier Foundation Primer , the golden brown colour seems to be much more darker than my foundation shade.

As this is a primer, it would prepares and smoothes skin , creating an even surface for makeup application. 

To my surprise once I blend it the colour seems to settle in with a very nice glowy effect. I like how it's not greasy, tacky or sticky!

My review on Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiant Bronze

When I first swatch the Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiant Bronze I thought the colour would turns my skin into dark tan colour. But after I spread evenly on my skin, surprisingly the result is very natural as it gives a fake sun-kissed radiant skin i.e a very healthy glowing skin! 

The texture is very easy to spread and blend on my skin! As mentioned this is a primer , you can either top up with foundation on top or just have this alone. And applying this Radiant Bronze under my usual liquid foundation does not give me much difference or maybe too little for me to notice. 

How to use Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiant Bronze

Apply this over moisturizer or onto clean skin before Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer or Foundation. As I want to keep the sun-kissed effect from the primer, I would personally suggest you to apply the primer first before setting it with transparent loose powder. For a better coverage, simple just brush the foundation lightly onto the skin after using Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiant Bronze. 

I know many girls have pale looking skin and sick without makeup, well this Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiant Bronze is what they need without needing to put on heavy makeup everyday. And now there is no reason why you need to go for sun tanning and risk your skin with harmful UV rays when you can have a natural sunlit radiant glow with Laura Mercier Foundation Primer in Radiant Bronze! I don't usually put up a lot of make up on weekends (unless there's event) so that my skin can take a break hence I usually put on this and top up with loose powder before going out !
