I have tried and fail to shape my eyebrow. Everyone I know is telling me is easy but I just cant get it, it is so painful to pluck my eyebrow (always in tears) and shaving using the blade is so scary and afraid of cutting myself or over-shaved !!

Me without any makeup

I told Alvin about what I want to learn and how I always fail to pick up the skills, he came up with a superb solution for me to master the skill of shaping my own eyebrow (or rather let it growing wildly or pay the the makeup artist to do it for me- but sometimes it's not the shape that flatters my eyes shape).

So I took Express class to learn Your Best Eyebrow look. Supposedly around 15 mins but I was like trembling and shaking and i think took more than 30 mins =.= pardon me for the 1st time to learn to shave my eyebrow using a blade.

Alvin the Chief Make-Up Artist who are my tutor of the day said that my problem is I could not able to imagine where is the boarder line where I should pluck or shaved my eyebrow , so he think of a way and told me I could use a white eyeliner pencil to draw up a shape on my eyebrow first before plucking / shaving so I will know where is the boarder line.



Must admit it is not easy but at least I learn how to hold the blade properly and how to draw my eyebrow shape before shaving it off.

After that I took Night Diva makeup lesson, where Alvin will do the right side of my face and I will need to my own left side of the face following his steps.

As my eyes shape are short, he drew my eyes longer using eyeshadow and eyeliner to make my eyes look bigger.

So this is my end result of my gorgeous makeup lesson with Alvin

I like how my eyebrow look right now, very precise and flatters my eyes shape very well :)

p/s: Should put on fake eyelashes but did not put on since I'm not attending any dinners that night .

Review : Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Jelly

KAO Malaysia recently launched two new sun protection products in its sun protection range by introducing Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Mousse and Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Jelly, with SPF50+/PA+++ and SPF30/PA+++ respectively, the products offer optimum protection from harmful sun rays while restoring and retaining the skin’s moisture with a cool ‘water-like’ sensation! And both of the products are stated as No 1 Sunblock in Japan based on 2010 data.

And I received them last month for review purposes in this blog to share my readers.

The first item is Biore UV Aqua Rich in Watery Mouse water base that comes with SPH 5o PA+++ and comes in 33g

There is a few benefits being highlight in the sticker. As stated in the sticker, this comes as a cream form and note this is for face only.

It comes in a tube form where one just need to squeeze out the cream to use.

It is stated that it contains Aqua Micro Capsules which release ‘water-like’ moisture, leaving skin feeling light, cool, healthy and hydrated.

Texture : It comes in watery mousse texture, come in white color

Smell : Has has a light pleasant fruity smell

My review : I felt slight cooling sensation when I applied on my face. The light texture cream like mousse type immediately disappeared into my skin without leaving any trace of white cast after I applied evenly on my skin. My skin did not feel sticky or have any allergy reaction at this moment and surprisingly despite it is in cream form it makes me feels quite light on my face and gave semi matte finish. On top of the sunblock, I applied the foundation on top of this and found that indeed this sunblock works quite well as makeup base which make my makeup last longer and not feeling greasy / sticky even after going under the hot sun.

The second product is Biore UV Aqua Rich Water Jelly water based SPH 30 PA+++

Like the above product, the same benefits is stated in this product too , however it is state in this product that this is in gel form and can be used on face and body.

It comes in squeeze tube bottle , consists of 90ml

Texture : Its light gel lotion type comes in light yellow color

Scent :Has stronger citrus smell but disappear after a while

My review : I felt very slight cooling sensation after I applied on my skin. And once I applied, it immediately absorb into my skin without feeling greasy/sticky. In fact I felt as if I do not apply anything at all! And my face do not feel sticky even after I went under the hot sun to go for lunch.

Note : I do not experience any allergy reaction when testing out these two sunblocks for over 2 weeks.

My suggestion

As both items are from the same range and giving same benefits and the only different is the texture, I would recommend these below to help you to make your choice.

If you are one that has oily skin and always apply makeup as your daily routine I would recommend the one that comes in mousse type because it gives semi matte finish and helps your makeup to stay on quite well. As this comes with 50 SPH PA+++ , therefore people who always work in outdoor will benefit from this..

And people with normal skin type and those who do not apply makeup regularly could try the one in water jelly type as this one could be used to apply on your face and body.


Both Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery (whether in Mousse/Watery Jelly) are priced reasonably at RM32.90 each and available now at all leading Guardians. Watsons, Jusco and Sasa.

Review : Laneige 2011 Spring Fresh Modernist Makeup Collection

Have you tried Laneige's latest Spring Fresh Modernist 2011 Collection ?

I am lucky to received 2 full size items for review purposes.

Laneige's Fresh Moderist is a spring makeup collection that is as simple and uplifting as Twiggy's Mod's Look (doll-like-makeup). Lovely pastel eye and lip makeup on clear sin, with vivid eyelashes and eyeliners, perfectly recreates Twiggy's Mod's Look from the 1960s. This collection comes with eyeshadow pallette, blusher, lipstick, lip gloss and two in one liner & mascara duo.

I love the bright color packaging!

The first item I received is Fresh Modernist Shadow. It is selling at RM110 and comes in 7.5g

It comes with 3 vivid colors with pearls (Orange, Pink and Green) and one black tone for your eye liner. This is designed to give your eyes look dolly like Twiggy!

This eye palette texture is soft and quite shimmering. At this moment, the color pigmentation show up quite well when I am doing swatch

I tried to apply the Eternal Emerald's eyelook which was created by Laneige Malaysia

1. Apply the Fresh Modernist Shadow in orange over the eyes lids

2. Apply the Fresh Modernist Shadow in green over the middle of the eye lid

3. Line the eyes with the dark grey colour from the Fresh Modernist Shadow

My review : Unfortunately I was having hard time when doing the eye makeup, as need a lot of blending to get the color showed on my eyes. And after that he color does not last me whole day, and by afternoon the color almost washed off. Maybe I should try to apply with eye base the next time I applied this to see if this the color can be more pigmented and more lasting power. Nevertheless this is a pretty fresh spring makeup that can be easily created from this palette itself without needed to mix and match with any other eyeshadow colors.

This is a new color added to this collection. From the outlook, I love the bright pink color and the Snow Crystal Range lipstick (read my previous review here) because they are so smooth and glossy!

Texture : Smooth, glossy pretty pink

Coverage : Medium High

My review : Love the texture which is smooth and glossy as it easily glides on my lips as I applied ! I brought this to my recent Japan's trip and find it the lipstick in fact quite hydrating even though the weather there is quite cold and dry

The Modernist Pink color is very pretty barbie colors that looks very good on my lips.

Really love this lipstick that I am carrying this in my handbag nowadays !

My Burberry Beauty Makeover and Giveaway of makeover vouchers!

Remember a while ago, I posted a blog post introducing a wide range of cosmetics products from Burberry Cosmetic after attending Burberry Beauty Spring/Summer 2011 Collection preview. Apart from playing with the swatches, each blogger who attended the event are invited to have a makeover and have a Burberry style photo shoot.

I let the SA to decide what color and look she wanted to put on me. Let me show you comparison and before. The makeover is not dramatic and in fact emphasizing on natural beauty which is suitable for day and night look. I like how the SA highlight my eyes and cheek, very naturally but I have the radiant glow from my makeover!
