Dorothy Perkins Spring and Summer 2014 Collection x Burton Menswear London Spring and Summer 2014 Collection

Last month I had the privilege attending on my favourite fashion brand fashion i.e Dorothy Perkins Spring & Summer 2014 Collection Fashion Show in Paradigm Mall. If you have been wondering where usually I get my fashion fix, my answer would be Dorothy Perkins!

Thanuja Ananthan was the emcee of the night, she is also our Miss World Malaysia 2009/2010.

This Spring/Summer Dorothy Perkins embraces two key looks: pretty and feminine pastels and geometric graphics with a sports luxe feel.

The pastel trend signals the return of femininity, combining sheer and lace textures with delicate organza details.

Red Floral Maxi Dress on the far right is absolutely gorgeous and if only I had the height I would totally get this! And yes I bought the coral lace top already :D In fact I had few lace top in different colours, and yes I am crazy about lace!

 The graphic trend combines minimalism and geometric prints for a relaxed easy to wear collection. Laser cut, asymmetric finishing and colour blocking are mixed with sheer panelling and midi length styles.

 The monochrome colour palette receives an injection of colour and the inclusion of delicate floral prints.

 Jacquard and lace pencil skirts are worn with a slub fit logo tee and a biker jacket.  

Separates are key for Spring Summer – whether it’s a midi skirt teamed with a dip-hem top or wide leg palazzo pants with a translucent blouse. The midi length is a must have - whether in a sheer panel detail dress or printed skirts.

For casual wear, washed out denim is mixed with the soft pastel palette. Simple tees are given an instant update with pretty embroidery and jacquard detailing. The summer sweat makes a playful return with fun logos and lace wording. Long-line blazers and fitted zip detail jackets are the perfect outerwear options and footwear classics like the flat brogue and simple court get a feminine make-over in sugar pastel colours and metallics.

I am into chiffon blouse recently and I'm liking the colour block chiffon top on the right. 

 Co-ordinated sets in fresh whites and soft tones are worn together to create a ladylike chic silhouette, worn with metallic flat sandals or strappy heels with a fold over soft clutch to finish the look.

Dorothy Perkins also suggested tailored high waisted shorts to pair with dip-hem top as this will make the ideal sports-luxe look along with the sheer sleeve bomber jacket and a structured neon mini cross body bag.

Oh besides Dorothy Perkins, Burton Menswear also showcased their Spring/Summer Collection 2014 as well. Just to shared with you Burton Menswear London is a new fashion brand in Malaysia also owned by DNP Clothing

City living is explored further with the Gothic Skater and California Warrior trend. Rich, natural colour dominates the theme of our next trend – Botanical. Here we find some of the most striking and daring pieces from the collection including tailoring in teal and cobalt, both suits exquisitely slim-cut and contemporary. 

Multi-colour yarns represent the less tame side of nature with mixed shots of light blue chambray, apricot, maize and salmon in lightweight summer knitwear. Team with chinos in rose or light indigo and let Mother Nature work her magic.

Step forward the Super Mod. Sharp and cool suiting in slate, dark grey and Prince of Wales check offers a slick tailoring alternative for the confident style king. A more dress-down take on the trend comes in the form of a navy Harrington, ditsy print short sleeve shirts and the ultimate mod favourite –the khaki parka 

It’s time to smarten up our act, and for this we look towards the timeless and elegant pieces that are intrinsic to stylish menswear. Wardrobe staples such as the single breasted mac, pale blue and pink linen tailoring and a light chambray collarless shirt make up the Vintage Traditions range. Traditional navy, stone and mushroom appears alongside pastel hues of lilac, spearmint and pale pink to create perfect modern classics. 

At the event, a number of Malaysia’s top  celebrities were dressed in the latest Dorothy Perkins and Burton Menswear Spring & Summer 2014 outfits.

Sephora Malaysia opened in Nu Sentral Mall, KL

Good news to you all who do not live in PJ or in KL but somewhere near Bangsar, MV or Brickfields because Sephora has just opened their sixth store in Nu Sentral 2 weeks ago! And coming up Sephora Malausia would be opening in Queenbay Mall, Penang! 

Well this Nu Sentral is a new mall located strategically located next to KL Sentral where this is one of the largest transit hub in Malaysia as there are Putra Lrt, KTM Komuter, KTM Intercity, Monorail, Klia ERL and bus station. And now commuters who are taking public transport could easily get down at KL Sentral to grab their beauty needs from Sephora, Nu Sentral before continuing their journey. 

Do you know that Sephora is really generous on the day of their opening in Nu Sentral as 1st 50 person who enter the store would get RM100 cash voucher and the next 150 people would get RM50 cash voucher! Are you one of the lucky ones?

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eyeshadow Collection is also in Malaysia already - selling for RM149

 This has been in my wishlist ever since I saw them in one of the beauty blogs in overseas and when I checked them out in Sephora.  Too Faced Something About Berry is absolutely a beauty! 

I tried them on my cheek and the colour pay off is beautiful.. and I'm sold! I am definitely going to get this but just not now as I'm saving for my Boracay trip which is another 2 weeks to go.. So maybe would get this when I'm back! Wait for me baby! 

p/s: I remembered the price was RM85 when I took the pictures but last week when I was in Sephora Starhill the price was changed to RM99, I wondered why...?

Spotted celebrity Patricia Knudsenwho was the emcee for the opening was having a touch up using Sephora products. 

This Oscar Blandi Root Touch up & Highlighter Pen (RM96) caught my eyes . I read that this is basically works as an instant touch up for your hair root.  

Patricia K decided to try on my hair root, yes I know I shall be colouring my head soon but just too busy to visit the soon! 

Looking at the small tube & mini comb that it comes with, I think this is on-the-go hair touch up tube especially for people who are in the look out for their grey hair, so that they can immediately touch up the particular strand of hair on the spot. 

I was wearing Dorothy Perkins Blue & White Striped dress to the opening and when I took the picture I realised, my dress matched the Sephora's Black & White strip logo. Also found out the girl on the right who was photobombing my picture is wearing stripes shirt too! What a coincidence! . 

Guess what I bought? 

I picked up Estee Lauder Optimizer Intensive Boosting Lotion (Even Skintone + Hydration) RM190 to try since I needed to stock up my toner. And I think this is a new packaging not sure it has new formula.

Surreal Sun looks coralish with a hint of pink while Boudoir Baby is coralish with a hint of brown. I think Surreal Sun colours is absolutely beautiful - got to check out this soon!

I do find this Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick in Boudoir Baby looks more coral pinkish before I swactched.

Here are 3 layers of swatch of Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick in Boudoir Baby.

I do find  that with 1 layer it is a little bit too sheer but it's buildable and looks pretty after the 3rd layer. Even with just 1 layer I can see there there is a high-shine finishing. Also Estee Lauder has included Multi-Faceted Color Pigments that create shape, definition and volume. 

It looks coral with a hint of brown on my hand , I do realised it looks a little different from the picture above. I think maybe because the lipstick picture was taken indoor and the swatch was taken under natural sunlight. Well let me show you how it looks on my lips.

Texture & Hydration

The texture is creamy, smooth and it easily glides through my lips comfortably. I am happy to report that I could apply this lipstick without puting on my lip balm first as the lipstick is really hydrating and has long lasting moisture. I guess the new and exclusive Time Release Encapsulated Moisture Complex with micronized Hyaluronic Spheres ingredient that help boost lips’ ability to attract, capture and seal-in continuous hydration. No wonder I felt my lips soft, smooth and stay continuously moisturized throughout the day. Compared to the US version, I read that it's less hydrated so I'm really happy with our Asian exclusive ones now :)

Scent 

I am glad to find that this Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick has no scent at all! *jump around happily!* I still remembered the EL Signature Hydra Lustre Lipstick which I had .. has a sweet vanilla scent which I am not really a big fan of it all!

Lasting power & Shine

Honestly the staying power is about few hours including a meal in between and for me that's good enough as long it keeps my lip moist. 

As I mentioned earlier on my lips colour are pretty pinkish and this Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick in Boudoir Baby turns to complement it so well. 

Personally I think Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick would sell pretty well because it fulfils what a women wants in a lipstick - the illuminating colour, shine, long lasting moisture plus the magnetic ultrachic lipstick packaging which gives the feel of pure luxury. 

Now that I have tried the colour, I love the Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Shine Sculpting Lipstick in Boudoir Baby colour as it will actually suits for all occasion and makeup.
