Review : Skinz UV White Blogger Workshop

Last month I was invited to try SKINZ UV White, a whitening skin care range by Wipro Unza Sdn Bhd and I am glad that the PR personnel is kind enough to allow me to bring along some of my beauty blogger friends to the event :)

The event was held in Garden Lifestyle Store & Cafe in Sunway Pyramid

It was held in one of their *hidden* private room that is beautifully decorated with white furniture, white flower & big white chandelier hanging in the middle of this room.

Very dreamy feeling!!!

First I was lead to do the skin test first to determine my skin type / problems.

My result

My skin was diagnosed to be normal to dry skin type. My skin having problem with pigmentation and uneven skin tone :(

In this workshop the organizer invited Dr. Anjalee Mohandas Nair, an Aesthetic Physician from Face Factors Clinic to share with us from a medical point of view about our skin, how pigmentation are formed and how could we reduced it (it cannot be removed unless going under the knife).

She shared that Asian skin are genetically know to have more active melanin and our skin compared to other races. Asian skin has more issues on pigmentation & freckles.

My overall feeling : SKINZ™ UV White range comes with a light pleasant scent. All the products easily absorb in my skin when I tried and all the of the products texture are light except for the night cream. However I do find that the foaming facial wash is a bit drying on my skin as my face feel tight after using it. However my friend Sharon (having oily skin combination) has started using this range, find this range well and not too oily/drying on her skin.

Under this range, there are also other products which I did not manage to try at the workshop which was given to me to try as well.

After the hands-on workshop, we are being treated with a mini hand massage using SKINZ UV White Protective Hang & Body Lotion. It was not sticky and has really nice pleasant smell :D

Last but not least, we are given a mini beauty makeover at the end of the session.

Review : NOPS Total Solution Serum & SCI Soft Eye Cream NBI-5

Few months ago, I was approached by NOPS (which stands for Natural Organic Plants) a Korean brand that known for natural, enables of sustaining healthy skin condition as well as nourishing sufficiently.The 3 concepts of NOPS are to bring you a healthy and beautiful skin, good for all skin types and using organic ingredients in their products.

NOPS have entered into Malaysia market early this year and currently having their 1st flagship store in Sunway Pyramid.

I was given 2 products to try. And let's see how they works on me :)

NOPS Total Solution Serum comes in a glass jar and a big plastic spatula

Double functional cosmetics certificated from KFDA for whitening, moisturing and anti-wrinkles. It takes care of the rough and crisp skin, prevents moisture evaporation for better moisture and bright complexion. KFDA certification on whitening & anti-wrinkles function.

Texture : Creamy

Smell : A pleasant strong smell which I don't know how to describe. But was told that their ingredients are 100% plants .

A little bit difficult to absorb, therefore tapping motion is recommended.

I used this Nops Total Solution Serum for around 2 weeks plus after my usual toner After skin and took a spoon ( like the fact that they gave a spatula an its hygienic) out to apply it over the face. I tapped on my face after applying it for better absorption.

My face does feel moist/hydrated after application however my face feel slightly sticky & rich with the serum when I used it on the day time, but it felt pretty nice if I were to put on this serum at night before sleeping in air-condition room. But I have not see any whitening/brightening effect yet as the product claims and maybe I need to use it longer.

This NOPS Total Solution Serum is selling at RM120 for 60ml , I would think quite a worth of money for such a big jar and to improve my hydration level on my skin.

SCI Soft Eye Cream NBI-5 is selling at RM140 for 10ml comes in a form of plastic syringe, except here you pump the cream out on your finger tips before applying on your eyes area:) This product comes from Stem Cell Nano Range under NOPS.

I was told this eye cream will be able to provide skin elasticity and skin tightening as it includes Adenosine which is also effective e for anti-aging.

I was told that this product was made using nano technology which means the product molecules is very small and is has better for absorption.

Texture : Cream type

Smell : Light pleasant smell

Review : I use this with care because it comes in cream texture. I massage it using my fourth finger until its fully absorb. It is slightly sticky, but it does not bother me. As I do not have any fine lines on my eyes area yet (thank god for that!) , I can feel that the eye cream keep my eyes area pretty hydrated.

And as you may know, dehydrated skin will caused the skin to have fine lines. And this eye cream is one of the most "scientific looking" beauty product I ever own :D And actually I did like how the syringe works, as each small pump is good enough for both of my eyes .

My waxing & hand paraffin experience in BMIC Nail Spa Salon

Over the last weekend, I decided to for waxing at BMIC which not only doing nail services but also offering waxing service as well. I remembered my first time oh eyebrow waxing is in Benefit counter last year. This time I am going to have a private waxing session at BMIC Starhill.

I am going to share with you girls here how they did my waxing session and hand paraffin treatment :)

Ops did I mentioned where am I going to wax? Well I am going to wax my eyebrow and above my lip area.

So I was lead into a private room and make to lie on the bed before the waxing session started. Kelly, the therapist looked at my eyebrow shape first before she proceeded to took a little bit of warm honeywax from the pot.

Quickly she applied the warm honeywax on the area that she intending to wax.

Then she put a strip on the area she put the honeywax. Pressing it hard to make sure it its properly stick.

Suddenly she pulled up the strip,at first it is a little bit painful because I did not expect that coming. Haha look at my expression! Quickly Kelly applied some kinda of gel on my skin to give soothing effect.

I was told that the action in pulling out the strip must be very fast at one go or else it would be very painful for us.

Then she gotta trim a little excess of the left over eyebrow and to shape i properly.

Hula, within 10 mins I got a pretty nice eyebrow shape already ! Yes it is a little painful but I was told this waxing could prevent the new growth of eyebrow hair for at least 3-6 weeks! So now I do not need to trim it for next few weeks !

For the lips area, there are some fine tiny hair on my upper lip. The method of applying and peeling of the honeywax is the same. However this time around it is not so painful compare to my eyebrow waxing because our eyes are the most sensitive/fragile area on our face.

After some waxing services, I went for the hand paraffin treatment. It is one of my favourite service because I like the feeling of my hands being soak into the warm wax just like how I like my feet to be soaked into warm water after a long tiring day.

Hand paraffin treatment helps to softening and moisturizing our hands. The warm paraffin wax helps to improve our blood circulation, reduces pain and stiffness around joints

This paraffin wax is peach flavour.

Before I dip my my hands into the warm paraffin wax (temperature over 35 °C), I opened up my fingers so that paraffin wax can wrapped around each of my fingers. I dipped around 3 times and each time each layer should harden slightly before a thick layers of paraffin wax built up on my hands.

Then I was told to wear a plastic hand gloves to lock in the moist.

And to retain the warmth of the wax, I was given a pair of mitten to to wear. I waited around 30 minutes for the paraffin to be cooled and dried before the therapist removed the paraffin wax by peeling it off from my hands.

And my hands are now soft and moist now :)

Apart from doing hand paraffin treatment, we must always apply hand lotion to keep our hands moisturize :)

The beauty room where I will be pampered.

After my face was being double cleansed, the BC gave my face a cold steam instead of the usual hot steam before extraction. I was told that the cold steamer was good for sensitive skin. And when she do the extraction, actually I don't really feel painful maybe because my face is like stiff (c0ld) for a moment after the cold steamer. After that she sprayed Cellnique ginger toner which gives me soothing & refreshing effect.

I was told that by the therapist that she will be using top grading natural quartz crystal with different level of mineral contents based on my skin condition. She said she will be giving me a very pleasure, relaxing and enchanting therapeutic Chakra Massage.

First the crystals were used to open my points before message starts.

Then the clear crystals were used to message in the serum . The stones that are used round and not sharp.

Then I was massaged with the Chakra Healing stone with Whitening essence unblock and stimulate my lymph nodes. It will also increased my blood circulation on my face. My face did feel a bit warm at this point due to the massage.

Then she used the nano technology ultrasound machine and massage in the hydrating essence.

Last but not least, she put on Soft Masque which contained Ginseng Extract that revitalizes the skin while lubricating it to improve elasticity and tone. This is my before and after result.

Unfortunately the tool to test my hydration was not working after my facial, so I could not check . But of course after facial I feel my face is a little bit more firm and moist!

The result in the graph ( ignore the hydration level). According to the chart, my pigment spots appeared lighter after the facial... WOW! And I was told my face would be brighter after a few days when the essence totally absorbed into my skin. And I was told that I should drink lots of water and apply hydration mask after the treatment, since it will stimulate new cells growing and my skin cells will need more hydrating and moisture during this period.
