Review : Himalaya Organique Exfoliating Walnut Face Scrub

I am always a big fan of scrub and mask because of the almost immediate effect I could see and feel after using it . Today I am happy to share my views on this Himalaya Organique Exfoliating Walnut Face Scrub which I received for review .

I was told Himalaya Organique is different from their usual Himalaya range because

1) Himalaya Organique has EcoCert certification which means it has 95% natural ingredients in the finished product.

2) Himalaya Organique products are not tested on animals and it has the “leaping bunny logo” i.e. cruelty-free certification as well.

3) The packaging is biodegradable and recyclable.

4) Himalaya Organique products are free from Parabens, Sodium Lauryl Sulphates and Sodium Laureth Sulphates (SLS and SLES), Phthalates, Petroleum and its derivatives a, silicones, synthetic fragrances or artificial colors.

5) Cold pressed method is used to extract the oils so that the potent anti-aging compounds are preserved.

p/s: Just to share that even before this, I am a big fan of Himalaya products because it's affordable and effective and who say organic product are expensive to use?

A little info of

* = Organic
Contains essential oils and organic extracts. Slight color and scent variation may occur between batches but product effectiveness is uncompromised.

Comes in a tube form

Texture : Scrub made from fine granules made from walnut seed and woodapple

Scent : Very nice fruity scent, Love the scent!

My Review : I followed the instruction and wet my face before applying the scrub. Roughly a 20 cent size of scrub is sufficent for my whole face. My first feeling is that the scrub smell really very fruity and yummy that I feel like wanting to eat them :P However I do notice their granules is not that fine as it claimed. However it is fine with my skin as I gently scrub it all over my skin. After few minutes of good scrub I wash it off with water. Note the granules did not melt with water. After I raise my face off with water, I can feel my face texture is immediaely softer. I realised that with twice a week regime with this scrub, my blackhead/whiteheads prone areas are clear! Do note that do not scrub your face too long with this scrub although it smells yummy because you might be a bit drying on your skin if you scrub it for too long (especially for people with dry skin)
Pros : Smells yummy, face feel softer after use, my blackhead/whiteheads prone areas are clear, certified by Ecocert , free from arabens, Sodium Lauryl Sulphates and Sodium Laureth Sulphates (SLS and SLES), Phthalates, Petroleum,.. and good value for money

Cons : Granules are not very fine so scrub gently, might be a bit drying on your skin if you scrub it for too long (especially people with dry skin)

Turkish Culinary and Cultural Week 2011

In conjunction with the 88th Anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, I was lucky to be invited by Turkey Tourism and Information Office in Malaysia to celebrate and commemorate the occasion by hosting Turkey Culinary and Cultural Week 2011.

It was organized in close collaboration with the Official Hotel and Event Partner, the Royale Chulan Hotel of Kuala Lumpur and event sponsors Etihad Airways and Ravika Olive Oil. Turkish Culinary and Cultural Week 2011 was held from 28th October to 4th November 2011 at the Royale Chulan Hotel, KL.

Mr Ali Gulen , the Cultural and Toursim Attache of the Tourism and Information Office of the Embassy of the Republic of Turket in Malaysia said that they have flown in an entourage of 23 people comprising of chefs, dancers, musicians and Turksish craftmen including calligrahists and well-known EBRU or paper marbling expert Mustafa Erkan for the week.

At the event we are entertained by Turkish band playing Turkish classical music.

"Mevlevi ritual dance (sema), folk dance and rhythm show.

I can't help to notice how interesting and colourful are their traditional costume!

Looked at the details! Everything is so colourful and making me thinking that Turkey must be a happy place to be in!

Anyway I was hoping to win the lucky draw at the event, where 2 return air-tickets to Turkey, sponsored by Etihad Airways and a 4d3n accomodation in a 4 star hotel in Istanbul, courtesy of the Turkish Tourism and Information Office in Malaysia! BUT NO LUCK!

Instead the flamboyant Kee Hua Chee won it !! And just a few minutes ago, he was sharing to the crowds his Turkey trips and I think he been there for at least 7th times !

Anonther member of the media won it !

Ah... no luck!! Because it has been years that I really wanted to visit Turkey!

Anyway I head on try the fine samples from Turkish cuisine to compensate my sadness!

Chefs who came all the way from Turkey!

The food was yummy !!!

This was served everyday between 18.30 and 21:00 everyday during the Turkish Culinary and Cultural Week... So any of you managed to try ?

Not forgetting the freshly brewed Turkish coffee!
I must admit this is good although I'm not a coffee expert!!

Not forgetting the Turkish ice-cream made from goat milk! See the way how he cut it !

Looked how happy am I and this is the evidence how good it is!

I like how the ice-cream was chewy, not melting that fast and the sweetest of the goat milk!

p/s:A little confession, I think I had THREE .... because it was so so so good!!!

Apart from that, there is a demo of traditional Calligraphy and Traditionl Truskish Art Ebru!

The Tukish Calligraphists!

This something very interesting ! Not sure if some of you have seen this before ?

This is Ebru Art Master Mustafa Erkan !

Looked how he did the flowers!

Simple explaination from Wikipedia on Turkish Marbling Art(Ebru):
A shallow tray filled with water, and various kinds of ink or paint colors are carefully applied to the surface with an ink brush. Various additives or surfactant chemicals are used to help float the colors.

See how magically the colours were transferred to the paper!

A very beautiful and unique art!

And I got this as a souvenir! Was lucky to get this from the event because I was told that this is going to be expensive if I were to get this from Turkey!

Turkish famous Blue Eyes!

It was believe to give protection and give good luck to people who wears it!

A great pleasure to meet Mr Yasin again! He is a very friendly person and I have met him a few times due to my work in my previous company but never got a chance to take a picure with him and now through blogging I met him again and manged to snap a photo!

After the event, I was sure that I will visit Turkey on of this day!

Anyone wants to join me?

ECCO, Danish Shoemaker launched their First Store in Malaysia

Have you heard of ECCO before ?

ECCO is one of the world’s leading brands of shoes combining style and comfort, has built its success on uncompromising quality, innovative technology and the design philosophy, “the shoe must follow the foot”.

On 20th October 2011, ECCO the Danish shoe maker and retailer has opened their first store in Malaysia at The Gardens Mall in Mid Valley City, Kuala Lumpur . This brand is no stranger to Malaysian shores having made its first appearance in 2009. And eventhough this is a Danish brand the opening ceremony of this event is celebrated with a touch of Chinese style as Vietmaland Sdn Bhd is the distributor of ECCO in Malaysia.

Lion dances are performed in the ceremony to scare away evil spirits and to summon luck and fortune for the store!

The lion dance looked lively with the beating of drums, cymbals, and gongs. In fact many of the passerby we attracted by this and stop by and see. As usually we dont usually see lion dance in shopping malls!

Looked at the lion's eyes.. so seducing!

These 2 lions dance bow down and give blessing to the shop.

These lions also going around the store to give blessing!

This is Vietmaland Sdn Bhd’s Managing Director Francis Chan. He said that they are inspired by the brand’s founder, Karl Toosbuy’s, simple philosophy of combining form and function to produce comfortable trend right shoes in Scandinavian style and design.

Check out the Ecco first flagship store in Malaysia!

I was told that ECCO is the only major shoe manufacturer to own and manage every step of the shoemaking process, and its employees are the life force behind its products, designing, developing, producing, and taking responsibility for every detail.

Ambassador of Danish Embassy H.E. Svend Waever, PMT Group Chairman Mr Chan Hing, Housing and Local Government Minister Y.B. Datuk Seri Chor Chee Heung, ECCO South-East Asia General Manager Ms Loh Seow Yuen and were also present to witness the event.

Models doing catwalk with the Ecco this season’s Autumn Winter ladies’ and men’s collection of formal, casual, performance and sports footwear!

And it's time go in the store to check out the latest collection which is inspired by the lush Scandinavian Forests and Modern Nature!

First I checked out the women's section!

And I can't stop looking at these leather boots... !!!

Wish I could own one of these and wear this for my winter holiday!! All the colours are pretty and comfortable to wear!

ECCO BIOM Train shoes

Crafted of soft, full-grain leather and shaped based on 2,500 foot scans, this shoe is designed to fit the foot like a second skin. Priced at RM689.

ECCO® Biarritz in Dark Shadow

The ECCO® Biarritz is a classic desert boot style with a naturally worn look. The uppers, made of brushed nubuck, have a rugged yet smooth finish, making the overall impression raw but simplistic. Wear them with a pair of chinos and a casual shirt for a nice, relaxed look. The highly breathable leather lining and insole with ECCO Comfort Fibre System, which increases air circulation, create a nice and hygienic climate for the foot. Priced at RM719.

I like this colour, it looked stylish and outstanding!

I spotted this sandals and I kinda like it because it is super comfy!

Comes in red colour too!

I like this leather sneaker's simple design. Very comfy and light!

I would prefer to take this colour though!

Others than heels, boots, sport shoes and sneaker, there are a wide selection of leaher flats too!

Ecco also sell shoes cleanser and shine sponge! And this reminds me that I need to clean & polish my leather boots once a while to keep the shine and to prevent mold from growing on the leather.

Besides comfy shoes, I spotted some bags which I really like and this is one of them!

This handbag does match my orange dress and peeptoe right? I am thinking if I should get it!

So do check them out, they are not cheap but definitely comfortable and worth the price!
