Beauty News: Lea Michele is the L’Oreal Paris NEW Ambassador

L’Oréal Paris is pleased to announce award-winning actress Lea Michele as the brand’s newest ambassador. Lea’s talent took her from Broadway to the big screen where she stole the hearts of Americans on Glee as a show stopping soprano Rachel Berry.

Review :L'oreal Professional Mythic Oil Milk for fine hair

Review of L'oreal Professional Mythic Oil Milk: I started trying out this and the first thing I noticed is the lovely scent once I sprayed on my hair... it's so nice and that makes me keep spraying ! It feels extremely light on my hair like as if nothing has been applied. As much as I like the scent, I don't think it works well to de-tangle my hair after I towel dried my hair or de-frizz it after I blow dry. However the spray dispenser is quite useful and easy to use especially right after I blow dry my permed hair, for keeping my permed hair shape in place while providing a little bit moisture kick on it as a final touch up. And if you have fine & quite healthy hair, you might want to try this to maintain your hair condition! I still prefer the Rich Oil formula (click here to read review) which nourish my dry & damaged hair.

My Royal Treatment by L'oreal Professionnel at Shawn Cutler

 A while ago, I was invited by the kind people in L'oreal to enjoy the Royal Treatment by L'oreal Professionnel at Shawn Cutler. And I make an appointment to do it in the afternoon just before the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards 2011 night , so that I walked out from the salon like a QUEEN for the night!

I went there around noon on and seems like their business is doing quite well.

I was in love with their interior design and decoration.
So classy !


Speaking of the Royal Treatment, it consists of the new L'Oreal Professionel Serie Nature Macadamia range (which was released in Oct 2011) and Mythic Oil

Generally sulfate are the cleansing agents used in shampoos were said to pose a threat in increasing female cancers such as breast cancer and so if I have a choice I will not use stuffs that have sulfate. And here in the Riche Macadamia shampoo, the sulfates were replaced by gentler cleansing agents of plant origin: sodium methyl cocoyl taurate and sodium lauroyl glutamate. These cleaning agent also can create a rich foam and gently cleanse the hair while respecting the hair’s lipidic film. This goes the same for paraben & silicon.

Solomon my hair stylist who was pampering me that day started shampooing my hair with L'Oreal Professionel Serie Nature Macadamia shampoo. He then shared tips that for best result of doing home treatment at home with L'Oreal Professionel Serie Nature Macadamia mask would be wrapping the hair with hot towel after applying the mask. So it allows better absorption of the nutriens.

My thought on L'Oreal Professionel Serie Nature Macadamia shampoo and mask

I like how my hair feel light after shampooing and smell so goof from the macadamia goodness. And I was quite surprise that even after applying L'Oreal Professionel Serie Nature Macadamia mask, my hair still feel light eventhough I can feel that my hair smoother and easy to comb through.

After the mask, Solomon applied a pump of L'oreal Professional Mythic Oil on towel drying hair for 2 minutes before blow dry to protect hair cuticle from the heat.

Ways how to do it

Solomon decided to curl my hair and doll me up a bit for the grand night. After he was done, he applied another drop of Mythic Oil for finishing, to give a shine and enhance layering of the hair.

The final result of my royal treatment after 2 hours! Love the sexy curls and my hair was actually bouncy and light even after applying 2 pumps of Mystic Oil. I was really impressed!

My Thoughts on Mythic Oil

Suprisingly this hair oil is really light and absorb really well. I felt as if my hair does not have anything on, as it is not oily at all! Made from the extract of Avacado & Grape seed oil it deeply nourish my hair, provide me the shine and give anti-frizz protection all day long!

Colour tested is L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine 6H in Strawberry Mix colour

Texture : Not very sticky

Scent : sweet caramel fragrance , making me feel hungry!

Effect : With just one swipe, it gives me a very even, vibrant and shinny finishing. It also has this small shinny gold sparkles which gives me a luxurious feeling.

Review: I swipe one layer of L’Oreal Paris Glam Shine 6H over my lips and found that its sufficient to give me the quite a good & even coverage of colour & shinning-ness on my lips that I could actually forgo my lipstick for once a while (although you cant see this clearly in the above pic). I also like the fact that it comes with very very fine sparkles that are quite long lasting in my lips even after few good hours although the colour are faded by a little bit by then. As it is not very sticky & drying, its definitely very comfortable to use on my lips.

Review : L'oreal Paris Revitalift Duo Powder Foundation SPF30 PA+++

L’oreal Revitalif range was launched back in 2007. It consists of complete skincare range and today they launched L'oreal Paris Revitalif Duo Powder Foundation SPF30 PA+++ for anti-ageing protection in a makeup form. Comes with a plastic red packaging which give it a touch of luxurious and exclusivity feeling rather than the boring usual white, silver or black cover.

It was stated that this Revitalift Duo Powder Foundation which is ultra gentle in texture but tough on ageing will give your skin total anti-ageing care with its potent formula that works not only to combat ageing signs but to also give your complexion instant youth. It claimed that fine lines will be smoothed, wrinkles will be reduced and features will be illuminated, giving you a fresh and vibrant complexion.

This Revitalift duo powder foundation comes with a soft sponge! There are 2 steps to apply this

Step 1

My Review : I found that the powder foundation texture was surprisingly very fine and smooth. Pores looked less visible and laughing line look less obviously and most importantly it does not look cakey on my skin! Apart from that, this foundation give quite a good coverage as it is able to even up skin tone and lightening the pigmentation.

And I like the highlighter which was included in this compact as it is much more convenient to use and I use it sparingly as I do not want to look too fair on the highlighted areas. And the SPH30++ formula came as a bonus to me (when I forgot to put on my sunblock) as I would still apply sunblock whether or not I am putting on makeup.

I would think this is a good buy from drugstore/pharmacy considering it is quite a good foundation considering the price.

Review : L'oreal Double Extension Renewal Serum Mascara

L'oreal first introduced its double extension mascara (i.e Ultra-Lengthening Double Extension Mascara) back in 2003 which not only lengthens our lashes by 60% but strengthen them as well. Today L'oreal Paris reformulate it and introduced a mascara that gave waterproof, ultra-lengthening, double extension mascara that comes in carbon black color. It promises to give more than 70% more length and helps to re-energises lash renewal.

This mascara contains not only nourishing Pro-Vitamin B5, Pro-peptide, it also contains Arginine (helps in the healthy grow of hair and lashes) and Madecassoside (helps with the lifespan of our lashes) which promises to reduce lash loss.

One the left side, the cap that comes in gold color is base mascara that is enriched with the exclusive L'oreal Renewal Lash Serum made up of a high tech re-activating formula.

The serum base mascara comes in white color.

Note : Because it comes in white color, it cannot be wear it alone to go out unless you going to put on it and went to bed. And the white base mascara color disappeared immediately after I put on black mascara coating.

On the right hand side, the blue color cap of the mascara is the Ultra Lengtening mascara in Black.

The formulation that comes in cream-based waxes will give a smooth texture and easy application

The black mascara comes with fine fibers. It promises to give ultra-lengthening effects that lashes will appear 80% longer instantly and designed specially for sensitive eyes and contact-lens wearer. And this mascara has waterproof and smudge proof formula.

Let's get down with the picture - a more practical comparison

I applied 2-3 coat of the black mascara , after 1 layer of mascara base.I like the fact that the fiber mascara is fine and make my eyes looks natural. And best of all it did not flake or went into the eyes after whole day application.

Although the expensive Tsuya tsuya Angel Eyes mascara might give a better effect in term of lengthening with their fiber but it flakes and went into my eyes sometimes and cause irritation.

Result : I can see significant lengthening of my lashes and slight volumizing effect on my lashes

As the fiber on the mascara are lightweight, it holds up my curled eyelashes quite nicely.

Like the slogan for this mascara advert says :

Don't limit your lashes !

This mascara fiber on my lashes are easily being removed with usual Biore Cleansing Oil-in-Cotton wipes compared to the Max Factor's Fake Lash Effect mascara which is a bit difficult to be removed.

I read that for better results, we should incorporate the Renewal Lash Serum into our daily routine. Use in the morning to protect lashes from external aggressions and at night to boost lash growth and regeneration. However I just started using this , so I am not sure if this serum mascara will help in boosting up lash growth. But what I see is that, the serum base mascara helps to holds my curled lashes properly and allow the black mascara on my lashes to last longer.

Pros : Significant lengthening effect, light weight and fine fibers that looks natural and easy to be removed with makeup remover, waterproof and smudge proof mascara.

Cons : Not much of volumizing effect (after all this is a ultra-lengthening mascara)

Review : L'oreal Colour Riche Serum Infused in Tropical Coral

Texture : With one swipe the color easily show, the color is somehow intense and matte without any shimmering effect. Texture is smooth when I applied on my palm.

I was given #444 Tropical Coral to try

Just with 1-2 swipe , the intensity of the color showed on my lips. It managed to cover my uneven skintone on my lips nicely and the color is quite long lasting.

Although it is stated that it's serum infused, i feel somehow it's not as moisturise as I expected. Maybe my expectation is too high.
