Swatch and Review : Maybelline New York Lip Polish in Pop 6

Oh hi ! Happy Tuesday...girls!

I realised recently I have been really crazy about lip colour. Do you still remembered my review on Maybelline New York Lip Polish Lip Polish 2 months ago, well till today I still love them... like I said in my previous review.... they are really affordable and the colours pay off are great!

And last month I picked up a new shade from Watsons Pavilion, it was having at sale at RM13 each rather than their usual RM32.90! Unbelievable right?

And I picked up Pop 6 because I always love red lip colour!

The swatch of Maybelline New York Lip Polish Pop 5 alongside with my other colours such as Pop 6, Glam 3 and Glam 6. I won't say much here as I had already share my review on these lip polish in my previous review here.

Absolutely beautiful shade right this Maybelline New York Lip Polish in Pop 6 right? It comes in bright red with a hint of coral. Could you also see the tiny micro shimmer ?

This is my complete look using Maybelline New York Lip Polish Pop 5

Don't you think red lip colour will brighten up our look instantly? I felt I look fairer when I use a red lip colour and looks more fresh when I use shade like pink or coral.

Top (L-R) : Glam 3, Glam 6
Below (L-R) : Pop 5, Pop 6

Review & Swatches : Maybelline New York Lip Polish by Color Sensational - A must pick up for lips lover!

Before Maybelline New York officially launched the new Lip Polish by Color Sensational I had checked them on Watsons on December last year. I went home to google and found out that it was named Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational Lip Color in some countries like USA.

In Malaysia we have only 10 shades compared to oversea they had 20 shades. Comes in pocket friendly size, this Maybelline New York Lip Polish plastic packaging does not look cheap but as nice as those in beauty counter brand.

From the look of the packaging you might be thinking this is just another lipstick but it's NOT. Maybelline New York Lip Polish is a 3 in 1 potion , combining a balm, lipstick and gloss.

It claims that it has a perfect blend of sweet and sensual, the smooth, lightweight formula of Lip Polish delivers a moisturizing liquuid balm that prep lips for intensely rich color.

Here I'm going to share with you the swatch and a detail review of Maybelline New York Lip Polish Glam 3, Pop 5 and Glam 6 shade.

One layer of swatch of Maybelline New York Lip Polish Glam 3, Pop 5 and Glam 6 shade. The colour is so pigmented! The magic lies in a formula that combines the ingredients found in a conditioning balm with rich, pure pigments and a high gloss topcoat.

The texture of Maybelline Lip Polish by Color Sensational Lip Color is creamy but NOT STICKY! Now I remembered that how I don't usually like lip gloss because its usually sticky and not comfortable to wear.

Also Maybelline New York Lip Polish is unscented and compare to the review I read on Maybelline Color Elixir which has creme brulee scent. Personally I do not like my lip product to have any scent so was glad to find that our formula is a little bit different from those in USA.

The applicator wand is quite unique, from the front it looks like a leaf shape and it can bendable up to 180 degree. A dose of creamy balm cling

I quite like their bristle as it picks up the product nicely and very easy to apply it smoothly on my lips. For darker shade, need a little more technique though.

Maybelline New York Lip Polish Glam 3 review -I t's  bright orange colour with micro shimmer.

Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 3 on my lips

I applied 1 layer of Maybelline New York Polish Glam 3 and it was good enough. Super shiny and spot the micro shimmer on my lips.

Out of the 3 shades that I would be reviewing,  Maybelline New York Polish Glam 3 is the easiest to carry and it would match any skin tone and any ocassion. And if you wanted to give Maybelline New York Lip Polish a try, this is one shade I would definitely recommend!

Maybelline New York Lip Polish Pop 5 review - sweet pink shade

Maybelline Lip Polish Pop 5 on my lips

I applied 1 layer of Maybelline New York Polish Pop 5 and it was good enough. If you notice this has no shimmer.

Maybelline Lip Polish Pop 5 shade is very sweet and I feel young wearing them.

Maybelline New York Polish Glam 6 review - is a deep berry shade

Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 6 on my lips

This colour needs a little bit effort in applying effort in applying as among all other shades this is the most pigmented one. No shimmer spotted here too.

I don't usually fancy shade like this as I feel kinda a little mature/old wearing them. However with the right occasion and makeup (i.e light makeup on eyes) this shade is quite classy to carry.

Maybelline Lip Polish does live up to the expectation that it does not make my lips drying. The color is smooth,  intense and captivating too! Generally the lighter shade of Maybelline Lip Polish such as Glam 3 and Pop 5 lasts for a few good hours before I need to re-apply them. And this 2 shades does not leave any stain on my lips.

As you can see Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 6 shade is the most pigmented one among three. And after 10 hours of wearing, even though the gloss is gone but it would leave a very nice berry stain on my lips. Mind you, you can't remove this using warm water and proper lips makeup remover is needed here.

Maybelline Lip Polish by Color Sensation is so far my favourite lip gloss and out of 3 shades here, I am carrying Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 3 in my handbag daily.

Which Maybelline Lip Polish shades do you prefer ?

Maybelline Lip Polish by Color Sensational is selling in Malaysia for RM32.90 . In Malaysia we have a total of 10 shades. Maybelline is sold exclusively at all Watsons, Guardians, Sasa & Caring pharmacies. And ocassionally they will have 10-15% discount, so do keep a look for it.

I think I'm going to pick out more shades to try because it's really affordable and live up to the expectations and raves that I have been hearing!

EOTD : Rainbow Eyes Makeup with Make Up For Ever

Yesterday I got some time to kill while waiting for an event to start, so Sephora KLCC was the perfect place to loiter and to check out some stuffs. While doing my beauty rounds, I looked at the mirror & thought that my makeup looked so plain. Then I remembered that morning I was in the rush to go out and just simply did natural brown makeup.

This is my "rainbow eyes" after playing with the colours !

And I am feeling so good because been some time I have not really play with colours because I always have to do quick makeup before I got to out out in the morning :)

I always wanted to try Make Up For Ever Aqua cream and since all SAs were so busy serving customers, I went on try out Aqua Cream colours to "brighten up" my look. Those marked in stars is the colours that I picked up; i.e Pink Beige, Warm Beige and Intense Blue for their existing collection!

I also picked up some of the colours from their latest Aqua Summer Collection ; i.e Delicate Pastel Green & Deep Iridescent Mauve! The green is so pretty...!!!!
The Aqua Cream is an ultra-pigmented, long-lasting waterproof cream. Highly concentrated in mother-of-pearl pigments, it provides an immediate color intensity with a luminous finish. Its long-lasting formula will not crease or smudge under the most extreme conditions.

Oh  I love love love these Aqua cream, so easy to use...and seriously wanted to buy all those colours that I used! There is no real technique and I just use my finger to it glide it through.... so easy because the texture is so smooth...even I was applying on top on my existing eye colour. The Aqua cream colour is vibrant and really long lasting! Each Makeup Forever Aqua cream selling at RM 95

Aqua Eyes is a waterproof liner pencil. Highly pigmented, its unique formula adheres to the eyelids and doesn't run or fade even under the most extreme conditions. Its fluid, creamy texture glides onto the skin and doesn't irritate the eye contour.
I also used Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes too! Picked up Gold, Majorelle Blue and Turquoise! This eyeliner is creamy, glides on smoothly and the colours are so pigmented! It stay on the whole night without smudging or anything....and this is really making me falling in love with colour eyeliner! Each Makeup For Ever Aqua Eyes is selling at RM 64 (if not mistaken).

I applied Warm Beige Aqua cream all over my eyelid and from inner of my eyes applied pink beige.then applied a little bit of Delicate Pastel Green & Deep Iridescent Mauve as I applied outward. At the corner of the eyes I applied Intense blue Aqua cream.

At the first half of my upper lid on the lash line, I used Turquoise Eyes pencil eyeliner and finish it off with Majorelle Blue. To enhance the look I used Aqua Liner in Gold on my waterline.

Note: In the morning, I am using Lunasol Skin Modeling Water Liquid Foundation OC 03, Jane Iredale Pressed Mineral Powder in Warm Sienna, Lavshuca Melting Eyes OR-1 palette, K-Palette Zero Kuma Concealer 01, Nars Orgasm Blusher and Maybelline Cat Eyes Colossal Mascara.

To finish off the look, I simply picked up a nude pinkish lipstick from Laura Mercier & applied Benefit Sugarbomb Blusher :)

Do you like my rainbow eyes makeup ?

Should I do this more often?

p/s: Maybe I should dig out those pigment and colourful eyeshadow to play of these day!

Review : Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels Lip Color in Rose Quartz

This reminds me me a song from the Seal - Kiss From a Rose

If you have been following last Fall/Winter 2012 trend, fashion takes on a rich, jewel tone. From Paris to Milan, London to New York, designers sent models down the runway in luscious plums, amazing amethyst and deep wines so breathtakingly beautiful.
Following that, Maybelline New York embrace this hot color trend with its latest range of The Jewels by Color Sensational! It comes with 6 colours alll in deep jewel shades which will add to the existing 10 shades in Color Sensational lipsticks. Personally I was quite sceptical when comes to wearing deep colors like plum, maroon and dark violet as it usually makes me looked gothic or makes me looked old especially with its matte texture.

With that in mind, Maybelline New York's The Jewels lipstick has came out with a revolutionary formula which will a give smooth & creamy finishing, leaving an illuminated finish that's both sultry and luminous. It has the brand new color technology and nourishing ingredients; i.e the pure undiluted jewel-lucent pigments which will enable light to penetrate through the lipstick to create a high-shine finish. In simple words, color looks dark yet luminuos, appearing almost jewel-like on our lips!
Look at the shimmer in the tube!!!

Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels Lip Color is made of nourishing ingredient such as honey nectar which will protect and smoothen lips, while giving the creamiest and softest treatment to your lips.
I have with me Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels Lip Color in 1432 Rose Quartz for review.

I was really impressed with the rich colour pay off, as it was very pigmented even with just one swipe. I swipe twice and I can see it makes not much difference to me.
My Review on Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels Lip Color in 1432 Rose Quartz

Texture : Creamy & Smooth

Colour Intensity: Very pigmented

Scent: Strong sweet scent
As the name of this colour suggested Rose Quartz, it has this beautiful dark rosey colour with a little bit of purple undertone. And with my pink lips and the colours turn out to be brighter than how it look when I swatched on the back of my palm. Although it has a little shimmer on the tube but I don't think it really show much on my lips. Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels Lip is has quite a good staying power, as it stays on me for at least 4 hours or more (without eating) and it is not drying too! For such a pigmented lipstick, the price is such a steal!

My FOTD with Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels Lip Color in Rose Quartz

Maybelline Color Sensational Jewels Lip Colour is selling at  RM29.90 exclusively at all Watsons, Guardians, Sasa & Caring pharmacies.

Review : Maybelline Hyper Cosmos Duo Eyeshadow

I think this is my first time I came across baked eyeshadows and well now I have two from Maybelline to try! Everyone knows Maybelline always offers the most affordable cosmetics with good quality, and personally I love their lipstick, plenty of beautiful shades to choose at very affordable price.

Well this Hyper Cosmos marbleized eyeshadow collection is inspired by galaxy and reminiscent of the solar system comes in 7 shades. Each has beautiful multi-color and multi-effects with its swirl of pristine uncrushed pearls.

Hyper Cosmos delivers two complementary shadows – a marbleized eyeshadow with prismatic pearls that o ers an easy blending solution on eyes, and the other, a solid eyeshadow with color so intense and bold that only one swipe is needed to enhance eyes further. The two eyeshadows come together for the ultimate harmony of colors for outstanding make-up styles.
Instruction how to use it just behind the casing

WN-1 comes in duo colour which has earthy colour combination.

The darker shade is a dark maroon while the lighter shade has a mix of bronze, pale yellow and grey.

Swatch of WN-1 with one swipe.

The pigment for this collection is fine and easy to pick up with finger or brush. The texture was smooth Personally I prefer to use brush here because I could pick the colour I want on the pan and start to blend.

Tips : Remember to tap away any excess shadow on the brush before applying on our eyes. So that the pigments will not fall and ruin our face makeup.

I particularly like this colour combination because itwas extremely easy to use. The pigments are easy to blend and it was done within few minutes. The lighter shade was not too over shimmering and was great to use as highlighter.

The makeup look stay for whole day without smudging.

BU-1 has a combination of bluish and sandy shades.

Swatch of BU-1

Unlike many brands, I like how the colours turn to be what I  see and it was just nice.

At first when I saw the bright bluish shade, I was a bit worried I would look like a walking Christmas tree. But turn out I only need to pick up a little bit and blend and it was sufficient to create the intensity. And that was just nice and not too much over the board.

Overall I was quite happy with Maybelline Hyper Cosmos Marbleized Eyeshadow Collection as the colour was beautiful, pigmented. I only need a little to blend and this duo eyeshadow could go quite a long way (probably lasts me for very very long especially if I'm using brush to apply).

Each Maybelline Hyper Cosmos duo eyeshadow is sold at RM28.90 for 2.5g available exclusively at all Watsons, Guardians, Sasa & Caring pharmacies.

FOTD : My attempt to re-create Japanese model Mai Miyagi's look

Most Japanese girls are blessed with fair & good skin. And I think not only their genetic is good but they really took the effort to take care of their skin! I remembered when I was in Japan earlier this year, I saw not only young woman but even middle aged woman or grandma busy buying skincare & makeup as well as if they are buying groceries. Be it beauty counters or drugstore, it is always full of ladies busy browsing beauty items from day to night! No girls will actually go out without makeup basically! And now I know it's genuine when Japanese brands clainmed they sell x number milion of product in Japan every minute, because Japanese are obessed with beauty products!

If you have realised in the pictures I posted here, I used to like very heavy eyes makeup until recently I like to go natural makeup because it is so easy to match with any outfit! And I always like how Japanese can still looked pretty in their simple nude makeup! Nude here would means the makeup we put on will only enchance face feature & it would look as if its natural beauty.

And this is a picture of Mai Miyagi (a Japanese model) looked in the Kiss Me fake eyelashes packaging and I really like how she look here. So here I am challenged to re-create this look and mainly will be using Kiss Me products !

Let's see what prodocts I used to re-create this look!

Products used in the makeover:-

-Shu Uemura Nobara cream cover stick foundation in 554
-Maybelline Angelfit Perfect concealer in Natural Beige
-Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Creamy Cheeks - #03 Peach Pink

-Lavshuca Melting Eyes OR-1 palette
-Kiss Me Heroine Make Smooth Liquid Eyeliner N #01 Jet Black
-Kiss Me Heroine Make Long & Curl Mascara
-Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Styling Eyelash (Rich)
-Kiss Me Heroine make Eyelash Fixer

-Kiss Me Heavy Rotation Pure Color Gloss #03 Skinny Pink

The highlight of the look is the eyes, here I'm featuring Kiss me Heavy Rotation Styling Eyelash (RM42.90) and I'm trying them for the first time. The one I'm having here is RICH type which I think it would gives my eyelashes a richer look.

Close-up look

The eyelashes is soft & easy to wear.

Nude eye makeup would means no fancy & vibrant colour. Here I am using one of my favourite eyeshadow pallete which I bought in Japan earlier this year i.e Lavshuca in OR-1 as it has this beautiful orange eyeshadow that will brighten up my eyes instantly with other matching beige and brown colour! If you ever going to go Japan, do chck out Lavshuca at any drugstore , the eyeshadow quality is as good as Lunasol one but cost less than RM50 for a palette!

The eyelashes really makes my eyes stand out and I like how it looked more awake!

This look is what I supposed to create.

Yay,this is my attempt to create Japanese model Mai Miyagi's look!

What do you think?

Do you think I succeed in re-creating Mai Miyagi's look?
