Laura Mercier Spring 2012 Lingerie Collection & Swatch

I was happy to be invited to Laura Mercier Spring 2012 Lingerie collection launch a few days ago in Sunway Pyramid. Yes I know so fast and it's spring now !!!

The best thing is Jodi Riley, the Laura Mercier International Make up Artist from US was there to do makeup demostration and to share her tips and experiences.

She started introducing the Spring 2012 lingerie collection and I thought I heard wrongly... Lingerie ? This Lingerie collection came about because of Laura’s background as an artist. She was a fine art painter and the inspiration for this collection was the soft romantic colours and fabrics from the Victorian Age. The colours are reminiscent of Boudoir vintage lingerie pieces such as lace, petticoats and silks.

And this palette has the colours combination that could easily create Romantic, Feminine and Playful look.

As she was doing the demo I was hoping the model could sit facing infront rather the sideways as I could not really see how Jodi apply the makeup on the model :(

She highly recommended Laura Mercier eyelashes curler which could curl up short eyelashes easily.

I have tried it and easily my eyelashes curled up!

Well let's see how the colours of the collection looked like ya ! I managed to do some swatch for Laure Mercier Spring 2012 collection!

Simple and classy packaging of the Eye & Cheek palette

My first impression is I love the colours combination in this palette because all this colours are "useable" and "pretty". Seems like one that I could bring for holiday easily without needing to bring so many palettes.

The combination of colours here I would think are pretty natural except for african violet. The colour is so beautiful and unique. It's violet/gray with some gold sparkles! So tempted to buy because of this african violet! *love*

I did went to the makeover to try out the collection. And honestly this is my first time trying their famous tinted moisturizer and lates foundation premier too! Kinda like it cos it is quite light but definitely not good enough to gives me a flawless look.

After makeover

I found out Laura Mercier eyeliner powder something quite unique! I was told to wet the brush before dipping them into the eyeliner powder palette. And the method of applying of eyeliner is dabbing. *unfortunately was told later on it's not waterproof*

I like how she does the makeup for me. Very natural and radiant look!

Dear friends this coming Thursday 8 March is Women's Day and here I am typing that I am proud to be a woman but there are 16 ladies that go beyond this and go Bald on this date!

Inconjunction with Women's Day A Cut Above is organising BALD FOR FUN event where 16 ladies will go BALD to raise fund for 3 cancer societies; namely MAKNA (National Cancer Council), Breast Cancer Welfare Association and National Cancer Society Malaysia. Salute to all these women!

And to those who are brave enough to go Bald why not go bald a good cause??

Review : Melvita Naturalift Youthful Skin Complex -Eyes and Lips

A while ago I introduced Melvita in my blogpost here and today I am going to review one of the products that was given to me to try i.e Melvita Naturalift Youthful Skin Complex - Eyes and Lips from the Naturalift Hibiscus Skin Renewal range. This range was launched early January and the ingredients are various flower seeds with anti-aging functions, including hibiscus, pomegranate, rose hip, borage, Camelina, etc.

Melvita Naturalift Youthful Skin Complex - Eyes and Lips is an interesting 2 in 1 products where it can be used both on eyes and lips area and targets to smoothen fine lines and wrinkles around eyes and lips area.

It is made of Acacia gum, combined with Buckwheat wax to diminish puffiness, as well as Chlorella - a detoxifying micro-algae that effectively combats dark circles. Honey and Stevia leaf provide moisturising benefits to nourish and smooth the fragile lip contour, while Raspberry and Shea butters help repair the skin.

My review on Melvita Naturalift Youthful Skin Complex -Eyes and Lips

For eyes area : I don't have obivious wrinkles or fine lines around my eyes to start with (touch wood!). So after 2 months plus of trying, I think that the eye cream texture is lightweight and absorb nicely on my skin around my eyes. It works very well to give hydration for my eyes area. As for dark circles and puffiness, I could not comment whether it is working or not because I admit I sleep on irregular hours and hence I might not see any effect working on me. So far it does not cause me any milia seeds.

For lips contour area : I massage the cream on my lips and it absorb almost immediately, no stickyness or whatsoever even though it is made of shea butter. I do feel my lips are instantly smoother and hydrated after applying it. The next morning when I woke up, I feel my lips are supple and applying lipstick seems to be easier task. However I do not see any fine lines on my lips area has been reduced so far. And if there is anything bothering me it is the scent of the product which is stronger when I applied on my lips but the scent went off after a while.

Pros : Hydrates eyes & lips area very well, no stickyness, absorb almost instantly, feel lips is smoother and easy to apply lipstick, great value for money because it is 2 in 1 product and it is made in France, certified by Ecocert to be organic

Cons : Feel the scent is stronger when applied on lips area
