Bella Awards "She Sparkles"

Bella Awards "She Sparkles" may be the 1st women's awards show in the country and it is expected to be the most significant award ceremonies ever held to celebrate, recognise and honour WOMEN from all walks of life.

The press conference was held in Sheraton Imperial last month and it was set up in a beautifully in purple and has very "bella" feeling! Bella Awards has the theme of She Sparkles because women are precious gems, they not only sparkle from the outside but inner as well with significant and outsanding contribution made to the society.

Initially ntv7 started off with 5 awards Bella Creative Award, Bella Style Award, Bella Beautiful Award, Bella Business Award and Bella Heart Award which is by nomination. And later on additional four NEW categories including Bella On-Screen Award, Bella On-Stage Award, Bella Sports Award and Bella Radio Award was introduced and it would be based on public voting.

Welcome speech by Ms. Airin Zainul, Group General Manager of ntv7 and ntv8. She said that "Women contribute tremendously towards nation building and thus deserve to be celebrated in the grandest fashion therefore it is a natural fit that the LIVE show on 2nd March will be an event thay is beyond spectacular."

These nominees were assesed based on their contributions, achievements and portfolio by a panel of judges. Besides the women recipients, the MEN will also be acknowledged with a special  recognition for their contribution to women and the society in general, with an individual to be awarded wth the "Bella Mars Award" title.

Meanwhile, the highest award for that night will be "The Bella Award". This special acknowledgement will be awarded to an individual not restricted to the nominees in the mentioned categories.

Mercedes Benz Stylo Model Search of the Year 2013 is now opened for registration!

This year Search helmed by Stylo International with show presenter, Mercedes-Benz and Saito College is an initiative undertaken in the lead-up to the 15th Malaysia F1 GP. It is also part of the Mercedes-Benz STYLO World Fashion Series presented by Mercedes-Benz launched 2011 in London.

“Opening up the talent pool to modelling is creating yet another additional platform and greater opportunities for the young,” said Mercedes-Benz president and chief executive officer Roland Folger. “Our aim is to put Kuala Lumpur on the world fashion map by promoting creativity among local talents and to be recognised for their global standards in fashion.

He added, “It will be an even more exciting year for Malaysia, thanks to our exciting partnership with STYLO to present Mercedes-Benz Stylo Fashion World Series. Finalists will be chosen based on height, looks, runway presence and overall impression.  

Requirement of the Mercedes Benz Stylo Model Search of the Year 2013

1) Open to both Male and Female contestants
2) Min age: 18 years old
3) Open to all nationality but must be residing in Malaysia for the last 2 years
4) Min height requirement: 172cm tall
5) Applicants are required to submit their photographs    
     i)  Close up of face with minimal makeup   
     ii) Full length profiles (preferably with one holding a standard 4.7in CD)
6) Entry closing date: 31st March, 2013      

 The 12 shorlisted finalist will undergo a month long intensive training with STYLO ACADEMY where a customised course on Personality Enhancement and Finishing School Curriculum will be taught to prepare them for the finals and to walk international runways. Public voting will count towards 20% of the final judging.

According to Stylo International founder and chief executive officer Dato’ Nancy Yeoh, “Our World Fashion Series has opened up international opportunities for young people who call Malaysia home.”

She further added, “We are a small country and need all the help we can get. If a Malaysian is unearthed here and makes it big internationally, she will say she was discovered in her home Malaysia, a place with great multi-cultural integration.” 

The finals will be staged during Mercedes Benz Stylo Fashion Grand Prix themed “Fashion Dolls” this year at a secret venue in the Klang Valley on the xx of March 2013. How exciting to find out the secret venue only at the night of the event!

Review : What I think of Vanity Trove February 2013 edition

I first came to know about Vanity Trove from my blogger friend Cynthia who subscribed them in Singapore some time ago. And finally it hit our Malaysian shore! Well I was pretty excited to see how this would flare..as this is not my first beauty box subscription I came across.

I received mine about 2 weeks ago, just about when I was going back hometown to celebrate CNY. Vanity Trove was sent by Kangaroo courier service , a not very popular courier company in Malaysia but fortunately their HQ is really near my house ... so it was alright for me to do a pickup when I was not at home to received the box. The box came in good condition and wrapped nicely in courier plastic wrapper.

It came in very good quality hard box. Unlike the usual open up box type, Vanity Trove's box is pull out drawer type. Definitely I am keeping the box to store my beauty stuffs :P

A brand that need no introduction anymore especially Benefit has been promoting this actively this month and prior to this I have received this samples a few time. I do love this because it does make my pores looking smaller and skin looking smoother. I am waiting to purchase this when time comes (i.e when I finished my stash)

Oriks Wild Ginseng Stemcell (Callus) Twister Essence 5ml

I haven't tried any Oriks products. I read this is a brand from Korea and focus using natural products as ingredients. This Oriks Wild Ginseng Stemcell (Callus) Twister Essence helps to tighten enlarged pores and I would be definitely interested to try this soon!

I not really a big of bb cream usually korean brand bb would bring me gray cast on my face. Hmm I haven't try this before, would definitely interested to try this.

Wella System Professional Colour Save Shampoo & Conditioner 30ml each

I have received this sample a few times and I do like Wella SP colour save shampoo and definitely love having this especially when I have my hair coloured recently.. can bring for a short trip holiday!

B.liv off with those heads 3ml

I came to know the brand b.liv in 2010 and I have tried few of their products before and quite like some of them. I have tried this b.liv off with those heads but could not really see much improvement because to start with I do not have a lot of blackheads. But my friends sweared by this products that it works wonder for them.

Overall I think this is the most expensive beauty box subscription price in Malaysia. Eventhough the main purpose of subscribing beauty box is to get samples to try out the products but I hope to see full size products in the future in the box considering the price. I am happy to come across Di Palomo Tuscan Rose Hand & Body Lotion and I am paying attention to this brand from now onwards. I would definitely hope to see different products in the coming box rather than receiving the same old products from other beauty box or magazines subscriptions..maybe an exclusive product sample for Vanity Trove subscibers?

Oh this year, just last year I had a CNY phootshoot with Nuffnang Fashion Fabulous & Shutterbug's team in Thien Hou Kong temple! Thanks to our NN Shutterbug's team, I got a set of very nie CNY pictures to post here!

Review : Lipocils & Black is great but.....

Talika has came out with Lipocils & Black mascara a while ago ... well I was really glad because I do think their Lipocils works on me and having a black mascara on the same tube is definitely a plus point.. save space in our handbag as well!

Lipocils & Black is a 2 in 1 mascara... because on the left side it has the classical conditioning formula which helps to grow lashes naturally longer & fuller and on the other end is keratin-stimulating mascra which provides instant result.

Talika Lipocils Expert is an eyelash conditioning gel made from plant extract based gel to help growth of eyelashes. It guarantees naturally longer and thicker eyelashes, stimulate growth up to 2.5mm in 28 days.

I could testified on this because few years ago when I first tried Lipocils Experts I was really impressed with it because I really can see my lashes grow longer and it does not fall so easily. Believe it or not, my lashes length has maintained every since even though I stopped using it because of laziness... but I guess with the excessive usage of mascara nowadays.. I need to apply it back to strengtened my lashes! 

Black on the other side is a black mascara which has a deep black effect that for longer, fuller, darker lashes instantly. . It has benefits in lengthen, volumize and curl instantly to enhance bare lashes. 

Colour : Intense black mascara

Applicator : The brush shape is alright but a little bit too big for me to apply inner corner lashes

How Talika Lipocils & Black works!

Step 1: Apply Lipocils Expert on the roots of the lashes

Step 2: Wait for Lipocils to dry before applying the mascara.

Step 3 : Comb our eyelashes to make sure it is not clump all together!

Review of Lipocils & Black: 

 I took so long to try this and trying to make it right but it just don't work for me. Being a big fan of Lipocils Expert and Mascara lover, I am so looking forward for this Lipocils & Black... because the mascara is not your usual mascara...it has exclusive mascara formula to help to stimulate keratin synthesis and lengthens lashes whule we coat on our lashes.

Well I have no complained for Lipocils Expert as it was all good! As for the mascara, I must admit that the black colour is really pigmented (one of my darkest black mascara) and I really like that! It also holds up my curl pretty well.

It was really great but..... I would think the formula is a bit too wet to manage. It does not dry off quickly... before I could apply 2 layers or so (the waiting period was a bit long especially when you are in a hurry), hence clumping would happned (refer to my Step 2 picture). So combing my lashes is the additional step I got to do to and this is definitely not the mascara you want to use in the hurry. So even I have plenty of time to apply Lipocils & Black.... but then the most nightmare can happened to me is it smudged on me even it is waterproof mascara. How I wish the formula could be improved so that I could have 2 in 1 products to carry around in the handbag... So meantime, I think I would just stick to Lipocils Expert which is priced at RM185 for 10ml.

So what is this Samsung Ecobubble washing machine all about?

Oh I saw this video and it was so hilarious!!!!! This is not the first time Samsung is so creative with their ads!!!! At first I was wondering why Samsung is filming their latest Ecobubble washing machine advertisment at snow mountain... and out of sudden a brown bear appeared....!!!!  Well NO FUN lah, if I tell you the whole story right... watch it...to see how it turned into a polar bear at the end!

So what is this Ecobubble washing machine is all about? Well I have heard of hair bubble hair colour... but I can't related how washing machine got bubble one... 

 I was wondering if it can produce bubble and let me play???

 If you remembered, in the olden days we see our grandma or mother create large quantities of rich and soapy foam for their laundry day, helping the detergent to penetrate and get absorbed deeply in each clothing they washed. Samsung applied this traditional wisdom in their bubble based washing system, to make the tiresome chore of cleaning clothes much easier and more convenient without energy waste.
