International Beauty Contest : Lady Forex Stars

Recently I found out an international online beauty contest where the prize fund is more than USD10,000 (which is more than RM 32,000!!!). Basically this International Beauty Contest - Lady Forex Stars contest is a project for attractive girls and women who are self-confident, like to pose in front of the lens, and make new friends! The main peculiarity of this Internet-contest is the possibility of live communication with the participants of the contest. Contestants may keep blogs, share personal beauty advices, tell about their lives, and communicate with their adorers to gains votes!

The Lady Forex Stars runs from 1st March to 1st October 2014 is opened to anyone.

Review : Biomedics 1 Day Extra Daily & Sign up for free trial lens!

Just last year I found out from my Optometrist that my eyes are pretty dry of level 2 hence I usually carry non-preserved artificial tear with me all the time to moist my dry eyes. I was told me that I should cut down wearing colour lens as it's more drying and stick with clear lens. And I should stop wearing any lens if my eyes are red and it's best to wear daily lens as it's more hygienic and comfortable. Since then, I have been trying out different brands of contact lens.

And just few weeks ago the kind PR people in CooperVision sent me 2 box of  Biomedics 1 Day Extra Daily to try. I have tried their Biofinity monthly lens before and I think they are quite good.

My review of Biomedics 1 Day Extra Daily contact lens 

So far I have pretty good experience in trying out this lens. Usually I start wearing the Biomedics 1 Day Extra Daily lens from the morning and only take out when I go shower at night (about 12 hours wearing them). My eyes are comfortable and it fits nicely. I was happy that I do not have red eyes or any infection while I was wearing them. Was really happy that my eyes feels really comfortable and my eyes does not feel drying at all. 

Out of so many daily lens brands I tried Biomedics 1 Day Extra Daily lens is one of the most affordable daily disposable lens out there of all as it's selling at RM80/box for 30 pieces of lens - which works out RM5.30 per pair compare to other brands which usually about RM6/pair. So I think I would be getting this in the future! 

And if you ask if I would prefer daily or monthly contact lens? I would pick daily contact lens any time because it's so hygienic as we throw away each pair after using them. Also wearing daily disposable lens cuts down the risk of having eyes infection from dirty contact lens casing ( as we supposed to clean the casing each time we store our monthly or yearly lens). And if you are someone who do not wear contact lens daily, definitely daily disposable lens are more cost efficient.

I love bringing daily disposable lens for my holiday because I always travel light and I wanted to save my luggage space for shopping bags!

Preview of XIXILI Spring / Summer Lingerie Collection 2014 and Bra Art Launch

Can guess what are the items used in this window showcase?

Did anyone guess bra? 

I first saw this window showcase in Xixili boutique in 1 Utama Shopping Centre where the bra art visual display centres around the theme of ‘togetherness’. Decked with waves of colourful bras, an inspirational quote: “You! Yes, You! The one reading this. You are amazing and simply the best at being you!” speaks directly at passer-bys.

In line with XIXILI’s brand philosophy of ‘Uplifting You Always’; XIXILI embarked on a special bra art collaboration with Ms Louise Low, a talented young Malaysian artist who has recently been conferred the title of Malaysia’s Top 10 Female Visual Artist.

Ms Louise ingeniously created a beautiful three-piece art visual experience using over a thousand Xixili bras. Each artwork serves to bring about the message of women empowerment to inspire women of all ages and walks of life. The three bra art visual experiences at its boutiques located at 1 Utama Shopping Centre (which is shown above), Mid Valley Megamall and Queensbay Mall, Penang.

Similarly at Xixili boutique in Mid Valley Megamall, the bra art visual display centres around the theme of ‘togetherness’. Decked with waves of colourful bras, an inspirational quote: “You! Yes, You! The one reading this. You are amazing and simply the best at being you!” speaks directly at passer-bys.

Finally, at Xixili's Queensbay Mall boutique, the artistic impression is themed with the act of ‘holding hands’. The window piece displays strength in unity as bras hold tightly to each other as they are stretched across the length. The quote: “Each time a women stands for herself, she stands up for all women. – Maya Angelou” emblazons this piece.

I love how they bra are so creatively use by Ms. Louise to create this window showcase and my favourite would be the ones in 1 Utama Shopping Centre  and Queensbay Mall, Penang! 

Well I had the privilege to attend the XIXILI 10 Anniversary Soft Launch & Bra Art Launch a while ago in their 1 Utama boutique. Besides the launch, we also had a lingerie show featuring a sneak preview of XIXILI Spring / Summer Lingerie Collection 2014.

I love how Xixili's model selection as they came in different sizes and height...  and this at least showed Xixili lingerie caters for people in all different sizes. 

I first came to know Xixili many years back when my ex colleague Vanessa introduced them to me. And after I bought my first lingerie from them, I'm their loyal customer since them because they are so comfortable and fits me perfectly! Expedia Partner Appreciation & Award Event

Wondering if you all have notice my blog header quote

I think that I'm living within the 4 walls .. don't know how does the outside world look like and after my trip to Phuket I decided that I can't wait to "jump" out to see the world.

Can you all guess where are all these places ? 

NO SECRET that I got addicted with travelling - everyone around me knows that!

Because I paid for my own holidays - no one sponsored me or anything! I got to properly plan my financial - on how to maximised my money so that I could travel more places. 

And people always asked me how come I can travelled so often, my answer to this is very simple. 

I ALWAYS HUNT FOR THE BEST DEAL, be it air tickets or hotels. 

And honestly internet is the best place to hunt for best travel deals, because travel agent will normally charge you a fee. My boyfriend and I are travel deal hunter... we do not splurge and buy expensive air tickets or stay in expensive hotel (unless they have great promotions!)

 And Expedia is one of the website that we always surf to look for the lowest travel deals. After all they are one of the world largest online travel company.

And just few days ago I was at their Expedia Partner Appreciation & Award Event. The event was attended mostly by hotelier and their business partners. And it was interesting to know how our local Kuala Lumpur travel market is as there are few speakers from Expedia who fly in just for the event to share their expertise. 

Quite a surprise to find out beside our Singaporean neighbour, Malaysia is highly visited by people from Australia, Japan, UK & US. Hehe moreover this year is Visit Malaysia Year 2014, hopefully we will have more tourists :)

 Irene Low & Suneet Nigale talk about the current market trend.

According to their research, more and more people are owning smartphone hence the mobile apps is the new thing now. And if you don't know yet, Expedia has a mobile apps too!

And they shared that just Valentine's Day alone this year, after 10pm there are a big shoot up of hotel booking via Expedia mobile apps. Well mobile apps are great for last minute booking yay! 

And Expedia runs great marketing promotions all year long,. And like the Thailand Sale, RM353 includes flight & hotel for 3D2N is ...is really a good deal! 

Oh so many speakers, I enjoy Ms Katheleen Tan, CEO of Airasia Expedia one the most. She gave a very inspiring speech and share how she started her career from pr agency, fashion, music, aviation and end up now in online travel agency. She was one of the pioneer to help Tony Fernandes to build up what is AirAsia today. One amazing lady! 

And when she was asked to share the secret of success - FOCUS, PRIORITISED and GET A GOOD TEAM of employees to work with you. Besides that she said it's important to GET A LIFE & Enjoy what we are doing. 

And I would agree on that very much. Life is short and we would not know how we would live, so we should  enjoy every moment we had!

p/s: You realised Katheleen is AirAsia Expedia CEO ? That's because it's a joint venture company between Expedia Inc and AirAsia. AirAsiaExpedia oversees both Expedia and AirAsiaGo businesses across Asia Pacific.

And because of her work nature, she travels so much. And I have been folllowing her on twitter (@Empressrox) and instagram (@katheleentan) for quite some time.. and busy stalking her pictures. 

And being a social media influencer herself as she he has 300,000 followers, she said social media change today's market. And some hotels which she has stayed has gained some booking after they are being shared/promote on her instagram.

And I was extremely lucky that day..because before the event start we are told that they are 6 lucky envelopes under the chair in the hall and I so happened to be sitting on the lucky chair to won 3d2n stay in Tristle Hotel JB.

My luck does not stop there, when there is a Q&A session to win the grand prize (i.e a pair of tickets to Perth, Australia) I managed to answer how many followers Katheleen Tan has in Weibo ! How do I know ? Google lah....it is 283k of followers!

Where in the World Should I be right now ?

Anywhere - as long as I have not been there! 

Looking at the dates, this is the best time to go to Japan to see cherry blossom! But this year I'm not going since I have been there twice.

I already had 3 holidays confirmed this year after I grabbed AA cheap air tickets during their promotion. And next week would be flying to Bangkok for a short holiday before my beach holiday in Boracay end of the month! At the later of the year, am going Myanmar with my friends.
