MYAirline Announces Temporarily Suspension of Operations starting 12 Oct Until Further Notice

MYAirline, which began in 2021 and took off for the first time in December 2022 with leased Airbus A320 planes, has been making headlines for a range of issues. These include the sudden departure of their CEO, Rayner Teo, and difficulties in paying their service providers and employees on time.

Since 21 August, MYAirline reduced the number of available seats on domestic flights by 25%. They've also had trouble operating at busy airports, like Singapore Changi Airport, due to limited landing slots, even though they were given a two-year extension by the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia.

Up to yesterday, news broke that MYAirline is close to securing a new investor, potentially Abang Abdillah Izzarim Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari, the son of Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg. This could provide much-needed financial relief for the struggling airline.

The recent suspension of services has surprised many. I haven't had the chance to fly with MYAirline yet, and I hope they can get back to regular operations soon.

MYAirline Announces Suspension of Operations

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, 12 October 2023 – MYAirline regrettably announces the suspension of its operations effective 12 October 2023 until further notice. The airline has come to this extremely painful decision because of significant financial pressures that have made it necessary to suspend operations pending the shareholder restructuring and recapitalization of the airline.

In a statement from the Board of Directors, MYAirline said "We deeply regret and apologize for having to make this decision as we understand the impact it will have on our loyal passengers, dedicated employees and partners. We have worked tirelessly to explore various partnership and capital raising options to prevent this suspension. Unfortunately, the constraints of time have left us with no alternative but to take this decision."

We understand the inconvenience this may cause, and we are committed to assisting you through this situation. Kindly reach out to us at customercare@myairline.my, and our support team will be readily available to provide their assistance. In the meantime, we are advising affected passengers to not head to the airport and seek for alternative travel arrangements to their destinations.

The Board, shareholders and all of us at MYAirline will be working tirelessly to resume operations as quickly as possible but at this stage we are unable to commit to any timeline. We reiterate our sincerest apologies for any difficulty and inconvenience arising from this suspension and will do our utmost to provide any updates which become available.

Discovering Wonders of Blueberries at the Blueberry Wonder Workshop

I have always love blueberry and I am a big fan of Oregon Washington Blueberries! I am thankful to be invited by Oregon Washington Blueberries to dove into a world of health and flavour at the Blueberry Wonder Workshop which took place at Wellness City in Bukit Jalil.

This event was a real treat for the senses, offering a wonderful mix of interesting talks, cooking demonstrations, hands-on activities, and delicious treats all centered around the healthy Oregon Washington Blueberries.

The workshop kicked off with an engaging speech by Mr. Eddie Saw, who represents US Blueberries in Malaysia. He talked about the fascinating history of blueberries and their transformation into a superfood. A representative from KL Wellness City, the venue sponsor, also shared some insights about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, which fit well with the wellness-focused event.

Wellness advocate and social media personality Iman Azman spoke passionately about the importance of blueberries in our everyday lives. These tiny but powerful berries have become a regular part of modern diets because of their outstanding nutritional benefits and their ability to be added to a wide variety of dishes and beverages.

Iman added, “My little ones especially, love blueberries in their cupcakes and as a parent I feel more assured adding fresh quality and nutritious ingredients into their favorite snacks and drinks.”

The event's culinary experience was made even better by Chef Zie Zie, who showed how to make a delicious Seared Chicken Quinoa Bowl with Fresh Blueberries. 

Everyone got to see how blueberries can add a unique flavor twist to both savory and sweet dishes.

Guests were asked to join a fun cooking session where they got to make their own tasty Blueberry Cream Cheese Mini Tarts and enjoy a refreshing Blueberry Colada drink. 

After the cooking fun, everyone savored a delightful lunch before gathering for a group photo to capture the memories.

As the workshop came to an end, each of us received certificates to recognize their active participation.

How It Works

Commencing July 15th, 2023, seniors from all corners of Malaysia are cordially invited to seize the opportunity to submit their video entries which would include any type of performance including singing, dancing, playing an instrument or even acting.  After the 1st September deadline, we would narrow down contestants to 20 semi-finalists, who would be invited to perform live on stage during the Amazing Seniors Life Begins at 50 Seniors Festival 2023. This event will be held at Atria Shopping Gallery in Petaling Jaya, from September 29th to October 1st, 2023. As part of the grand finale of the Talent Quest, a distinguished panel of prominent icons, including the renowned Dato’ Khadijah Ibrahim, will take their positions as judges for the grand finale.

Huawei Malaysia Celebrates Artistic Brilliance With Zoom Into Malaysia Award Ceremony 2023

Huawei Malaysia just wrapped up the fantastic Zoom Into Malaysia Photography Contest. The pictures captured by the contestants with Huawei phones were simply stunning. It's amazing how much creativity and talent were showcased in this contest.

The winners were lucky enough to walk away with some fantastic prizes like Huawei P60 Pro, Huawei WATCH FIT, Huawei FreeBuds 5. These coveted rewards were surely a dream come true for the talented winners!

The contest's response was just incredible! It really showed how Huawei is all about supporting creativity in Malaysia's photography community. The overwhelming participation spoke volumes about their dedication to encouraging local talent. It's fantastic to see Huawei celebrating and nurturing the artistic spirit of photographers in the country.

The Zoom Into Malaysia Photography Contest, which ran from May till June, successfully drew a total of 4,100 participants from across Malaysia, providing a captivating platform for both professional and mobile photographers enthusiasts to exhibit their unique photography and videography skills. Participants were invited to capture the awe-inspiring beauty of Malaysia using Huawei smartphones, allowing them to unleash their creativity and perspective in portraying the nation's rich landscapes and vibrant cultural moments.
