Review of Mary Kay Upbeat For Her Eau de Toilette - flirty, festival-inspired scent created to capture THIS feeling

I'm a fragrance collectors, I lose count how many I own actually. Different fragrance gives me different feeling... some makes me feel girly, confident, calm and sexy! The latest one that added to my collection is Mary Upbeat for Her EDT! The fragrance name Upbeat actually caught my attention because it literally meant full of hope, happiness, and good feelings ...and that's actually the reason why I shower myself with fragrance every morning... to feel good , find hope & happiness the rest of my day!

Mary Upbeat for Her EDT is flirty, festival-inspired scent created to capture THIS feeling. Be you, be free! Upbeat, celebrates people’s love for music. There’s something almost electric that happens when a crowd gathers because of a shared obsession with music, united by their style and attitude about the world. It’s in this spirit that Upbeat, the new fragrance from Mary Kay was created.

The first sniff , I like the citrus scent as the top notes... so refreshing! However once the scent settle down it became a little bit of musky + floral scent. Although this fragrance is an EDP (Eau de Toilette interestingly the scent is quite strong at the first sniff however it went off after a while...  The bottle itself does gives a summer vibrant feel because it is in orange colour and that represent positive energy!

And according to the scent description ; here are the details for top, middle and bottom notes for this fragrance in case you are interested to know.

Top Notes

This unique fragrance opens with a captivating burst of red berries, sweet nectarine and sparkling apple. The delicious surge creates a boost of energy and a sense of excitement to last through the festival experience.

Middle Notes

Jasmine rose, muguet and wild honeysuckle add a sweet flirty nuance to this energetic fragrance. It exudes femininity, sensuality and the spirit of moving to the beat.

Bottom Notes

Christmas came early for me! Thanks Melvita Malaysia and L'occitane Malaysia for sharing their Christmas collection with me last month. I was so swarm with work and I wish I could share with you earlier. Nevertheless you still have few days to do your last minutes Christmas shopping!

 This year L'occitane has an interesting collaboration this year for their Christmas collection when their founder Olivier Baussan invited his friend Pierre Herme who is a  renowned pastry chef in Paris to come up with  L'occitane x Pierre Herme collection.

The collection is perfected when Olivier focus to create the shape and colors for the collections bottle and the box while Pierre Herme creates the fragrances and flavours.

L’occitane 2015 Christmas Collection consists of Jasmin-Immortelle Neroli, Pamplemousse-Rhubarbe and Miel-Mandarine. 

Jasmin-Immortelle Neroli is my favourite collection of all because it has floral and really nice feminine scent that  Pierre Herme has created. He balances the white rose notes of gardens at dawn with the gold of a flower that still flourishes throughout the Corsican masquis.

So I would like to share some Tips to have Longer Lasting Fragrance here. In fact the secret is in your daily body care routine. Build up different layers of fragrance from your shower gel, body lotion, deodorant and finished off with a spritz of fragrance behind your ears and on the nape of your neck to have a lasting effect. Lastly don't forget to touch up at mid-day with roll on or body spray.

We were told that the dress code is foxy jungle so I went with leopard prints from my dress, handbags and heels! Add to add in the foxy look, I went with my red lipstick!

Review on Avon Instinct EDP 

I love the design of the bottle which comes in gold colour and I love how it embossed leopard print onto the bottle to give it an exotic feel. When I first tried Avon Instinct EDP, I could smell the fruity lime/orange  scent which is pretty strong on the first few seconds. But after a while when the top note scent started to settle i n I could detect a light floral scent (which should be the camellia flower scent). After few minutes, when the scent is totally set in...I could clearly smell the woody and sandalwood scent. The fragrance lasts on few for a good few hours and I quite like it the scent when it is settled in. I would say this is a sensual scent for a confident and sultry woman!

Light Up the Season with L'occitane Christmas Holiday Un Noel a Grasse Collection!

In conjunction with the Christmas Holiday season, L'occitane introduced additional two new limited additions of scents & body products to the existing La Collection de Grasse which was introduced last May. 

 The NEW Fleur d'Or & Acacia (for her) and Cedre & Oranger (for him) fragrance

L'occitane Fleur d'Or & Acacia (For Her) comes in orange/gold packaging and consists of 8 products.

Key raw materials: Mimosa Absolute from Grasse, Acacia from the Mediterranean Basin.

Family: Musky Floral

Head notes: Lemon, Bergamot

Heart notes: Mimosa, Acacia

Base notes: White Wood, Musk. 

By looking at the ingredients, it would be a sweet scent for sure. My first thought of L'occitane Fleur d'Or & Acacia EDT (75ml for RM225) when I tried it on my hand is that it has a very strong warm honey scent which is too much for my liking. To my surprise it smell quite different when my friend tried on her hand. So I guess the chemical reaction is different from persons and you got to try it to see if the scent suits you personally. 

 Besides fragrance, L'ocittane also produced a whole series of body products for this range such as

Glitter and light, shimmering particles, shea butter and sweet almond oil…Nourishing yet lightweight, mist this sheer, fluid dry oil over hair and body for a scented veil of moisture.

L'occitane Cedar & Oranger EDP (75ml, RM225) offers a fresh woody scent of cedar wood that bring back memories of good times as a child are paired with the scent of orange trees, laden with ripe, juicy fruits. Solemn and majestic yet cheeky, this fragrance is sweetened by hints of musk, to create a bold, intense impression.

Key raw materials: Virginian Cedarwood Essential Oil, Italian Orange Essence.

Family: Citrus Woody

Head notes: Orange, Bergamot, Pine Needles

Heart notes: Cedar

Base notes: Vetiver, Musk

For this men range, there is only 3 products to complement the EDP i.e

After Shave Balm 75ml, RM120: Housed in an understated aluminium tube, this post-shave balm soothes, moisturises and leaves skin lightly scented.

Shower Gel 175ml, RM62: Perfect for the gym or weekends away, this gentle 2-in-1 formula is ideal for skin and hair.

Perfumed Soap 50g, RM21: This non-dying soap bar cleanses without stripping away skin’s natural moisture. Perfect for hands and body.

Between this 2 scent, I would prefer L'occitane Cedre & Oranger although this is the men range. Although usually I don't like very woody or musky scent, but this L'occitane Cedar & Oranger EDP scent caught my attention. The citrus scent seems to balance the musky scent very well. This is worth checking out!

Review : MARC JACOBS HONEY EDP comes in a cute packaging that many girls can't resist!

I always have a thing for perfume that has cute packaging and Marc Jacobs perfumes definitely have the cutest one around and they always somehow stand out amongst the rest.

Honey by Marc Jacobs is no different from its predecessors because this is also an eye candy for the eyes. The bright packaging in yellow which looked like a BEE just make me happy by looking at it! You can imagine how attractive is this fragrance bottle because mine was stolen during the 3 months renovation works at my house and I was feeling sad because I didn't realised it until the renovation works were over recently. This explains why my review is so much later even though the fragrance was launched in August as I just got myself a new bottle of this fragrance recently.

Marc Jacobs Honey has a vibrant, bold and spontaneous concept and with the height of irresistible charm, HONEY by Marc Jacobs promises to set our heart a flutter...

Bold stripes, feminine dots and a punch of color meet in a graphically clever mix that reflects Marc’s inventive play on classic lines and patterns. Playful and polished, the bottle is an elegantly crafted glass bottle that reveals the cheerful golden hue of the fragrance.

On the top, landed a butterfly in vibrant yellow and black stripes.

Shimmering pearl at the center of each butterfly add polished radiance, while the signature logo and gold coil- wrapped collar imparting a glided touch.

Honey by Marc Jacobs Eau de Parfum is a sweet fruity floral scent and although it is named Honey, it is surprisingly not as sweet as I thought it be. The first sniff I can smell the refreshing citrus zing from the pear and juicy mandarin and the fragrance scent settle, I can smell the sweetness from the honey and vanilla. And I love how the sweetness of the fragrance is not overwhelming.

Top Note : Pear, Fruity Punch, Juicy Mandarin

Middle Note : Orange Blossom, Peach Nectar, Honeysuckle

Base Note : Honey, Golden Vanilla, Smooth Woods.

This fragrance is developed by Firmenich, the fragrance energizes with the freshness of green pear brightened with a splash of fruity punch and juicy mandarin. At the heart of the fragrance is orange blosson, a note of sparkling femininity that mingles with nectars of honeysuckle and peach, honey, vanilla and smooth woods dry down to a warm, golden base.

If you like a floral scent with a hint of sweetness from honey, you definitely need to try out this. With such a cute packaging, I'm sure many girls want this to be on their vanity table! With Christmas just around the corner, this would be a great Christmas gift!
