Review : New Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + with improved moisturizing effect and skin barrier strength!

I believe most of us here heard or use Clinique before at some point in our life! 

I am not sure if I mentioned this before that Clinique is the first brand I bought when I first got my paycheck. I got myself Clinique 3 step set and my personal favourite at that time was Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion ( DDML) because the texture was nice and it does somehow keep my skin moist!

Who can forget their advertisement of 3 Steps for Great Skin at RM 1.62/day, such an affordable price for a counter brand! 

In case you don't know, Clinique is a dermatologist developed brand where dermatologist Norman Orentreich MD worked with US Vogue editor Carol Phillips and Evelyn Lauder (daughter-in-law of Estée) back in 1968 to develop a brand that brought dermatological thinking to cosmetics. Clinique is founded on the philosophy that great skin can be created with a simple 3 steps routine; i.e Cleanse, Exfoliate and Moisture.

 

After 45 years, today Clinique finally decided to came out with a NEW formula for one of the best seller moisturizer that will now double the moisturization levels for comfortably hydrated skin all day without an extra drop of oil and promise an increase of 54% improvement in skin’s barrier strength in 8 weeks

With the same design bottle, this new formulated lotion is now named as Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + (spot that plus sign!) promises to give better moisturizing effect and strengthen the skin barrier so that less moisture escape from our skin!

In order to help strengthen the skin’s barrier giving it more resilience against environmental stresses, Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + formula contains of a blend of sunflower seed cake, barley extract and cucumber extract! It also incorporates 3 NEW moisturizing ingredients such as Hyaluronic acid, Glycerin and Urea that not only give better moisturizing effect but allow our skin to retain that extra moisture so that your skin remain hydrated throughout the day.

 

This Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + is recommended for people with with Very Dry and Dry Combination skin skin types.

Janet Pardo, the Senior Vice President, Global Product Development, Clinique said that in Clinique Allergy Tested would meant each formula is tested on 600 people twelve times for a total of 7,200 applications. I love how they still remain their texture where it is very lightweight & absorb immediately when I applied on my skin.

 

Review of Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + :

 

I have been using this Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion + for some time and I do really like how it felt on my skin! It works well for me, making my skin soft and “toing-toing” after a long day under the sun or air conditioned room. Although the texture is really lightweight, I do not need to apply a lot on my skin as a little amount of 20 cent coin size is sufficient to keep my skin hydrated all day long. I love waking up with my my skin feeling soft and supple and make up seems to stay longer when my skin is properly moisturized! So I guess I would be back using this moisturizer for a while and give a miss to all my brightening/anti-aging/whitening products for a moment :D

I do think the new formula is dramatically different from the old one because the hydration lasting power is longer and it makes my skin feels really supple and nice throughout the day!

Yesterday I visited the Clinique Jusco promotion booth at Midvalley. It is situated right infront Vincci. I was given a form to fill and was usher to have my makeover.

Here is my scary no makeup look

First the beauty consultant remove my makeup and then prepare my skin with Clinique skincare. I was asked what kinda of look I want, and just happened that after the makeover I will be attending a party, so I think I want to have the Fashionably Flirty look *naughty me*!

So the makeup artists starts to work with her magic hands on my face.

As you can see, she is very serious.

Clinique Star 2011 Winners Annoucement

Remember I blogged about this Clinique Star Tour bus where this Clinique Mobile Truck has Makeover Studio on it has traveled across cities in Klang Valley, Melaka, Ipoh and Penang to provide young women with opportunity to learn more on their skin concerns, experience make up application and hairstyling by a team of skilled artists as well as have their photo taken by professional photographer.

During the campaign more than 2,220 participated in the contest where their photos were uploaded to the Clinique Star Tour website. The judge then shortlisted 330 participants of which Malaysian then voted for their top 25. During the voting phase 48,422 visited the website with 11,418 people voted. From these narrowed 25 hopefuls, Clinique and Cleo picked the top 3 which is the above 3 girls.

So who is the winner for Clinique Star Tour 2011?

Alicia Tan, an accounting an Finance Degree student at Taylor's University Lakeside Campus. She aspires to be a successful banker with her ultimate dream of becoming someone influential and inspiring, one that can truly makes a difference.

The 1st runner up is Alena-Marie Atkinson, an aspiring law student

The 2nd runner up is Shermaine Leong who is currently pursuing her business degree.

Each winners received RM5,000 worth of Clinique products personalised to their skin needs.

My makeover from the Clinique Star Tour 2011

If you have been to the shopping malls for the past weekends, you might see this White Truck parked in front of the malls and wondering why people are queuing for it.

Well it is the Clinique Star Tour 2011 Mobile Truck! And I visited them when they stopped over in Pavilion KL !

When I reached there, I was shocked to see that actually that the slot for the rest of the evening has been almost filled up even though it was raining quite heavily.

I filled up the form and register myself for the Clinique Star Tour Search.. even though I am over 25 years old I am still allowed to join for the makeover for fun :D



Check this out, they have everything inside this Clinique Mobile Truck !!

When I got on the truck, first I got to queue for my skin to be analyzed. I was told I have dry-combination skin.

Then all my makeup was removed by the Clinique Skin Consultant using Clinique Take The Day off, which is a cleansing balm.



The Clinique's 3-Step Skin Care System which was recommended for me.

1) Clinique Liquid Facial Foam Mild
2) Clinique Clarifying Lotion No 2
3) Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion

and top up with Clinique All About Eyes

Then Mr David Ooi, Clinique Makeup Expert started busy transforming myself with his makeup brush!

He shared that in order for the liquid foundation to last longer, we should pump out the liquid foundation on the back of our hands and dab it with the makeup brush before stroking foundation brush on our face. The reason is we would the liquid foundation to get a little bit heat from the back of the hands then the foundation stayed longer and close more pores.

After 30 mins or so I am done and I took a picture with Mr David Ooi.
