Burt's Bee 1st store opening in The Curve.

We the blogger Super girl Jean, Susan, Cia Wei, Kelly and me had a really crazy Saturday outing. I thought of going just 2 events but end up jumping from one event to another event ,within 1 day. A total of 4 events !!! And we some more managed to drop by Burt's Bee 1st store in The Curve on their first day of opening (i.e Saturday).

I like the whole feeling of the store, I think it's because the whole store is painted in yellow which makes you feel energetic and happy. There are 2 sales assistants and one retail operation manager in the store to serve us. We was told that the products in the store has 98% natural and they strive to have 100% natural in their products by the year 2020.

Once we stepped into the store, we quickly asked for the best seller which is the Beeswax Lip Balm (read so much about it online) so quickly smell it ... and try it on my hand.. The smell and texture passed my expectation. As I mentioned previous time, I love beauty products that has nice nice smell. And this is their first beauty product they have invented back in 1989 and it is their best selling product of all times.

This price was not expensive as I thought it would be, was told by the SA that this is a US drugstore products. And it's cheaper to buy from Malaysia than Hong Kong , which is triple the price. Since I am going next week, I will check this out before buying.

Lots of different shades, flavor and range to choose from.



I tried this and this is their hand cream for people with extremely dry hand. Very moisturizing indeed!

And the good thing is some of their items do come in small/travel size/trial size, easy for us to carry around in handbags

The SA told me that since they just opened the store, there is no promotion yet however there will be more coming soon! And if we buy more than RM200 above, we will be their member and will be invited to their workshop and events for free. And good news is Burt's Bee will be opening their next store in The Gardens, Mid Valley City on 1st June 2o1o. And I think this place is definitely worth a visit!

I applied the Shu Uemura Tsumori Chisato Limited Edition Planet Cat Palette black eyeshadow at the outer of the eyelid, then gold on the middle eyelid and silver colour on the front eyelid. That goes the same at the lower eyelid. The eyeshadow colours no doubt is very pigmented and I only applied lightly.

And I think the gold eyeshadow is a kinda of weird combination in the palette, as the colour is slightly a bit warm compare to the other two cool colours. I still trying to see how to use the palettes into good use.

I must tell you that Shiseido Macquillage Finish Powder damn nice, very smooth and of course my makeup last whole day. Love it to maxxxxx !!!

Review : MAC Fashionista Workshop

Last Wednesday attended the MAC Fashionista Workshop at KLCC, I arrived around 6.45 and to my surprise I was the only participant who is there among the 10 participants which has registered.. I thought the event is canceled, lucky some the participants turn up by 7pm. And Fatin was personally selected by Syahidah (The Senior Makeup Artist) to the model of the day. So we were told to sit around them in a U shape to listen to her demo (I thought it was a hands-on workshop..!) Anyway Syahidah went to introduced herself and the team and start transforming Fatin (from strange cat to beautiful cat!). Along the way, she introduced their star product which will be used on Fatin's face. And the SA will bring the items to us and let us try at hand.. We were also allowed to stop her to ask question as well, which the participants quickly took the opportunity.

p/s : She looked so trill!

Her complexion is flawless and radiant after the makeover, the eyes was enlarged and Syahidah show us how to do contouring on her face too.

My again "naked" face ! When I asked for a makeover from one of the SA to try and see the result of the products, she said full makeover like Fatin will be charged O.0 Instead I got a mini makeover... After the makeover I realized there is no lipstick/ligloss neither there are mascara which make me feel kinda weird, so I went to apply myself ^.^

I love the foundation NW35 to max even though its powder foundation only, my face was so smooth *licin licin until can tergelincir* , I am seriously considering to get this instead of the Clinique SuperMoist one which I thought of buying it in Hong Kong after mine current finished. Of course their Prep + Prime Skin Base Visage helps in giving a proper base before foundation.

I am lemming about their brushes too!!!

And I applied myself the MAC Mascara Zoom Lash in Black and MAC Colour Me Coral Lipstick.

NOTD : Bling the Fuschia Pink

I added some bling to this nail polish , by using the mini nail tip nail polish I bought recently from Etude House.

This is one of the best nail polish I ever used! It don't smell bad, very quick drying and the colour are so vibrant and long staying. The picture above I took is after 2 days of application (1 base, 1 layer of nail colour and 1 layer of topcoat), with me moving stuffs around the colour still stay on perfectly!

Review : Stila Convertible Colour in Peony

I bought this during Stila Clearance Sale in Parkson KLCC last year. I bought it because it is pretty in packaging and it's quite cheap. But seriously I do not know how to use it at that time ! After trying few times, I kinda give up and kept in my cupboard and totally forgotten about it. Until recently when I was arranging my cupboard, I took it out again and telling myself I am going to give it a final try to put a test on myself again ...especially I have attended so many workshop and pick some skills.

This convertible colour is in cream in texture and its for cheek and lips.

Swatch : On the left is the first swipe without blending and on the right hand is after I have blend it.

I applied on my lips and the colour come out quite nice, its in nude colour and came out looking like clean lips. However it is a bit drying, therefore advisable to put on lip conditioner/Vaseline before applying this.

The blusher for my cheek colour was very natural after blending with my fingers, with slight touch peach pink colour. And the only advice I could offer is don't be greedy. Put a little bit and blend blend blend, remember to smile while blending and put on loose powder to make the makeup stay. The different between Nars Orgasm and this is Stila Convertible Colour in Peony is that although both colour are quite similar however Nars Orgasm have slight touch of shimmering gold dust on top of the peachy pink blusher. And of course the latter one requires skills/time in getting the correct blending.


p/s: I think I'll be taking this out to use more often than before, especially cream one can last longer than powder blusher one..

Review : Kiehl's Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 PA+++ UVA

Recently when Kiehls contacted me to do a review for their latest product, I immediately said YES given as I started using some Kiehl's product since last year ! I was given a full size of Kiehl's latest Ultra Light Daily UV Defense with SPF 50 PA+++ UVA (30ml) which is under their Kiehl's Dermatologist Solutions range to try out.

And when I first saw this product with so many PA +++ behind the SPF 50 I want to find out what differences does it make between PA++ and PA+++. So I googled and found out while SPF refers to the sun protection factor, PA refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers against UVA rays. More plus symbols mean more protection from UVA and UVB rays.

Some information which I read from online

UVA Rays
This kind of radiation is actually the major contributor in having skin cancer if you get to have more constant exposure to it throughout the year It has the ability to go deeper into your skin than UVB radiation.

UVB Rays
Its main target would be your epidermis, or the outer layer of your skin. It is also the primary reason why you get sunburn. UVB rays are also considered to be the major cause of squamous and basal cell carcinoma, and a significant contributor of melanoma.

And most glass used for windows blocks UVB but not UVA

So this product protects against not only UVA but also UVB rays.

The ingredients

This is PABA free

What Does PABA-free mean?

Apparently PABA stands for para-aminobenzoic acid. It is part of Vitamin B-complex and is used in some sunblock lotions. PABA can cause allergic reactions. Ironically, the allergic symptoms resemble sunburn. Since this lotion is PABA-free, there is less chance of an allergic reaction.

Hence chances of you having allergy reactions with this is product is quite low or none! ^-^

It comes in a form of tube

I squeeze out a little to try to try , well it has a very very mild pleasant smell and the texture is between lotion and cream but more towards a lotion.

Then I started to rub gently it into my skin and finally lightly tap it in to make it settle like I usually do.

My comparison with my existing sunblock Kose Freshel White C UV Day Protector SPH 35 PA++, to my surprise Kiehl's absorption was much more better and that it has no greasy feeling on my face even though the SPH was higher.

There is no trace of white colour remain on my skin after the absorption has taken place quite immediately after I rubbed it in unlike my existing sun protector which is slightly white tinted. This sun protector gives me matt finish without me looking like glossy paper.

And what I really love , that because the absorption works so well (only within few seconds) that when I touched my skin again, it felt as if I have not applied anything on it. And this is really the most ultra light sun protector I have ever used !


Of course putting it on my hands to try is just indoor testing. And of course I have put this on for 1-2 weeks and went out with this. is.


Here are my thought after using it for outdoor

• Honestly, I feel particularly comfortable as I do not feel the heat directly on my face even though I was under the hot sun and I think this must be because that it is SPF 50 PA+++. Before I learn how to put on sun protector properly 2-3 years ago ( or where I used to be not bother to put it on ) I always feel that my face is burning under the hot sun, even though I am using an umbrella. And once a skincare consultant told me it is because I am either not using sunblock on my face or the protection that the sunblock given is not good enough. And at that time my pigmentation is starting showing on my face. So SPF 50 PA+++ is totally perfect for me because I hate to carry umbrella nowadays, too much trouble.
  

• Even I sweat, the sun protector does not come out melt and feel greasy on my face. This is very important as I will sweat quite a lot especially during hot weather like this.

And even most of the times I'm inside air condition room, my skin are not drying because it contains glycerin which draws moisture up through skin layers and slows or prevents excessive drying and evaporation. Which is just perfect for people with dry skin like me !

As a summary, the product has 4FREE that is

• Fragrance Free
• Colour Free
• PABA Free
• Oil Free
  

And my 4LOVE for this sun protector will be

• The excellent absorption that takes place within few seconds!
• Non greasy. Skin feeling as if nothing is on.
  
• SPF 50PA+++ UVA just excellent for Asian weather ! I wish to go to Bangkok with this!
• Fragrance free and Colour free too , no funny smell or colour!

So I guess other than the price is slightly pricey at RM140 for 30ml , this product is totally my love.
