Launch of Bintang Walk's Stairway to Debenhams KL, Debenhams Cafe and Debenhams 2012 Autumn/Winter Collection fashion showcase

Last year, Debenhams moved from Lot 10 to Starhill and personally I prefer their location in Starhill for few reasons. It is much more happening area and a bigger floor than their previous location! Yes I always love UK fashion but there is one thing that always stop me from going which is the accessibility and I will tell you why.

Debenhams KL is now currently located at the Starhill Gallery's Explore floor (2nd floor) and previously the only way to go to the store is that we got to walk through the mall (floor by floor) either by going up through escalator/lift to get to Debenhams. And for someone who has 1 hour lunch break and decided to go to skip lunch and go shopping in Debenhams will actually end up having 30mins to shop after walking 5-10 mins (considering that we are wearing heels and address arrive) through escalator to go to the store. Evem taking lift also need to wait right?.

-Eric Eoon, Executive Director for YTL Land and Andy Jackson, Managing Director  for Debenhams Malaysia cutting the ribbon to officiate the opening of Stairway to Debenhams

So with that in mind YTL decided to enchance Bintang Walk by launching the new escalator which now allows convenient access to visitors straight to Debenhams directly from the street.

-Joseph Yeoh Vice president for YTL Land and Development; YTL Hotels and Properties Eric Eoon Executive and Andy Jackson Managing Director for Debenhams Malaysia

The new air-conditioned escalator is named "Stairway to Debenhams" is encapsulated  by a sleek frame which complements the contemporary design of Starhill Gallery. And it is located exactly on the right side of the building (just behind Sephora), which will takes you straight up to the store.

Besides launching the Stairway to Debenhams,  Starhill Gallery also launched the Debenhams Cafe where we can relax with a cup of traditional British tea in the open air ambience of Bintang Walk at the foot of the escalator or another Debenhams Caffe on Starhill Gallery’s Explore floor right outside Debenhams.

And this is perfect for tired shoppers to take a break before continuing shopping! And I think my boyfriend would be more than happy to sit and enjoy his cup of hot coffee while waiting for me to do my shopping!

The menu

At the launched we are served with traditional British delicacies daily, including a range of healthy salads, scrumptious Prawn Cocktail Sandwiches, traditional Ham and Cheese Toasties and delicious Steak and Chicken Pies which are served with a helping of Mash Potato. And all this is in their menu!

Besides that, Debenhams also launched their Autumn/Winter collection 2012, which comes from my favourite top British designer Julien Mcdonald alongside with Jasper Conran and Henry Holland.

Debenhams A/W 2012 fashion showcase the latest collections for men and women with models with the first winter collection Army Theme with a military insipired look

We have a showcase of checks and plaids Town & Country theme which is based on the strong British heritage of neat ‘hacking’ jackets, pencil skirts, trousers, shift dresses and coats that have been designed with colours of winter greens, dark chocolate and burnt orange.

Traditional winter dark colours along with stylish metal buttons and neat shoulder epaulettes has combined to create some of the most stunning designs of the season. Elaborate rich fabrics are a must have for the season with the Rich & Opulent theme which works well on shirts and dresses.

Leopard prints never go out of season!

Beautiful yellow print which is easy to match whether it is blouse, dress or tops!

For the men, this Autumn/Winter season they can go choose from nautical themed Cruel Sea which carries a range of stylish garments such as hooded smock jackets.

The English countryside can integrate with Malaysia as men can don clothes from the Heritage theme which includes brushed cotton shirts and cord trousers in earthy browns, tan and forest green colours.

Here comes my favourite designer, Julien Macdonalds which made sheer panels, lace details, exposed zips and peephole details on his Autumn/Winter collection is Star’ and ‘Diamond’ collections, all to give a sexy feel.

And this is my favourite dress!

Oh that's me before I cut my hair away!

Whisper : Debenhams KL still having their Ultimate Year End Sale till this 27 January 2013, and sale up to 70%.. I have grabbed a few good steals! So don't forget to check it out!

Did you know... Debenhams KL is one of the largest store in Asia with 37,000 square-feet!

Enchanteur Love Fragrance bring alive the celebration of love

Love is like a flower which blossoms, undaunted when affectionately showered with unvarying care just as every spark of romance keeps love alive and exciting. But love, entwined by daily thorns of life means little time for romance to be nurtured.

Yes we need to water our love to keep it Alive!

And often when we are in relationship for too long, romantic expression is not there anymore. And this is essential to our relationship because it is the extra zing that keeps it interesting and enjoyable.

Every expression of love, big or small, is significant in flourishing a committed relationship towards a love that is forever. It brings about a wave of euphoria, flashing back memories of that single throbbing moment when love first took place.

With that in mind, ENCHANTEUR is proud to introduce ENCHANTEUR LOVE, a new range of fine fragrance specially dedicated to women who are in a committed relationship.

ENCHANTEUR LOVE wish to be the perfume that celebrates every romantic moment with your loved one to keep the flames of love burning bright.

Inspired by the heart-warming, wonderstruck moment when a woman receives a jewel, Enchanteur Love is presented with a passionately designed Emerald cut cap where its brilliant sparkle brings to mind the diamond on a ring which symbolizes the seal of a true and everlasting love.

Pieced together with an elegant glass bottle, receiving the new ENCHANTEUR LOVE Eau de Toilette is akin to receiving a precious jewel from a loved one as a pledge to celebrate an everlasting journey of love together.

ENCHANTEUR LOVE comes in two signature scents:-
  • ENCHANTEUR CELEBRATE LOVE Eau de Toilette (pink box) - starts off with an explosion of sparkling freshness of bergamot, white peach and pineapple. The heart of the composition then sparkles with sweet red peony and passion fruit which symbolizes love and excitement of being together. Warm cedarwood, golden amber and musk wraps this lovely creation that together form a base as comfortable and warm as the embrace of a lover.
  • ENCHANTEUR FOREVER LOVE Eau de Toilette (yellow box) - has a lively, fruity scent of citrusy bergamot, lemon and mandarin combined with the sweetness of cassis, pineapple and apple that symbolizes the beginning of a wonderful journey of love. It then blossoms beautifully into a floral bouquet of roses, jasmine, geranium and freesia just like true love that grows deeper, while the stable comforting nuances of musk and amber completes the fragrance to signify the promise of an everlasting love.

Karen Poi the Product Group Manager of Enchanteur announced at the launch that celebrity couple Sazzy Falak and Nazril Idrus as the face of this new range because the couple’s relationship personifies the inspiration of ENCHANTEUR LOVE. She said Sazzy and Nazril is an exemplary couple as they both make it a point to keep the flames of romance burning, this is truly what ENCHANTEUR Celebrate LOVE and ENCHANTEUR Forever LOVE is about.

Nadia Heng the emce of the launch interviewed how Sazzy and Nazril keeping their love alive & burning after marriage!

Look at how cute Sazzy Falak and Nazril Idrus as they are teasing each other during the interview!

Do you know Enchanteur is one of the first scented body powder I have ever tried during school days and I'm still loving them! And this Enchanteur Love fragrance also exceeded my expectation, not only the packaging looked nice but the scents are really really nice too..for a mass product fragrance!!! It does not looked cheap or smell too common in my opinion, in fact it looked really beautiful on my vanity table!

Personally I would prefer Forever Love over Celebrate Love because it has this nice fruity scent which is refreshing and not too empowering! And both the scent is just perfect for people who just fell in love or wanted to zing up their relationship!

Both Enchanteur Celebrate Love EDT and Enchanteur Forever Love EDT retails at RM 31.90 per bottle of 50ml Eau de Toilette. And it is available at all major outlets, supermarkets, hypermarkets and pharmacies.

So if you are a student or just started working, this is the fragrance for you to invest.. smell nice & pocket friendly too!

Review : Lippy Girl Organic Lipstick - Rich, Creamy, Moisturizing and best of all it is Organic!

Love the Lippy Girl logo on the lipstick, so girlish!

I was first introduced to Lippy Girl Lipstick by BBF Beauty Box and and I love it ever since I teied it. Lippy Girl is not a local brand but a brand from Canada. So I google and look up more information on it and found their little introduction in their website:-

Lippy Girl Makeup has the primary goal of producing professional quality cosmetics. The cosmetics with the Lippy Girl label are ecofriendly, natural, organic, vegetarian and animal friendly. Neither our products nor ingredients are tested on animals, and our ingredients are natural, organic, vegetarian and will never contain chemical preservatives.

And I was extremely glad this is a natural, organic and vegetarian product which means there is also no paraben in the product!!

The lipstick I got is Organic Lipstick Rouge Range and it comes in simple black plastic packing

According to Lippy Girl, their organic lipsticks have herbal infusions in colours that will make you look and feel fab. And their lipsticks are smooth and moisturizing with a gloss finish. These Organic lipsticks are enhanced with the moisturizing of organic beeswax, as well as natural oils from organic jojoba, grape and castor seed.

Ingredients in Lippy Girl Organic Lipstick: Organic Cera Alba (Beeswax), Organic Simmondsia Chinensis (Joboba) Seed Oil, Organic Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Vegetable perhydrosqualene, Natural tocopherol (Vitamin E), Vitis vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil.

May Contain: Titanium oxides, Iron oxides

There are a total of 7 beautiful colours under Lippygirl Organic Lipstick. And I think all colours are so pretty and wearable!

And I have Lippy Girl Organic Lipstick in Nudist.

Swatch of Lippy Girl Organic Lipstick in Nudist.

Texture : Smooth & Creamy

Colour Intensity : Comes in Pinkish Nude. Rich and pigmented. Even with one swipe it was good enough.

Scent : None
Review of Lippy Girl Organic Lipstick in Nudist

Honestly when I heard the word organic in cosmetic, I have really low expectation on the performance of the product because of my past experience. But Lippy Girl just changed my perception! On my first swipe, Lippy Girl Organic lisptick glides through smoothly and the colour is so beautiful. The colour is rich and pigmented even with one swipe!

It is very moisturizing and colour is really long lasting (without eating)! In fact this this Lippy Girl lipstick is so much richer and have better moisturizing properties compared to a lot of top brand lipstick that I have tried even though this is an organic product! And I really like this so much that I carry them in my handbag all the time what more the the colour is perfect for all ocassions! I can't find any fault with this and would definitely love to re-purchase other colours too!

The Lippy Girl Organic Lipstick is priced at CAD15.50 (convert Canadian dollar to Msian ringgit which comes up to RM47.90) which I think was very reasonable for a really good organic lipstick! However the only problem now is I do not know how much is the shipping fee if I buy directly from their official website as it is not stated there and I shall write to them to enquire!

So I say goodbye to my long hair and has a new hairstyle for year 2013

I said goodbye to my long hair and I'm going to miss this hair for a while!

If you don't know, I cut my hair shorter.. .. I mean SHORT!

I've been thinking to cut my hair shorter for quite some times ( few years maybe) for some reasons
1) My hair is damaged from bleaching and it cannot be rescued anymore even after 2 years of bleaching! My hair ends are dry & have split ends and I was depressed!
2) Hair fall problem that leads to hair thinning and soon balding!
3) I am just too bored with my hairstyle (has been 10 yrs alrdy!) and I wanted a CHANGE...I know curly hair is nice but I', lazy to curl up my hair all the time and its damaging as well.

BUT every time I sat on the salon's chair and asked for a shorter hair, above my shoulder... the stylist just replied.. your face is round and short hair would not looked nice on you ( or another word UGLY). Sigh And all stylist I met over the years, be it the expensive salon or those cheap one.. all told me the same.. that if I insist cutting my hair shorter, it is a bad choice because it would make face looked rounder.. etc.. And I am torn and don't know if I should change hairstyle..! I am in dilemma...

Not only recently, I was chatting with ParisB and I told her how I envy her hairstyle because she change all time and it looked really nice on her! And I told her I am stuck with my long hair and all sylists said best hairstyle for me is long hair and I will look wrong in shorter hair with my round face. And then she said she has the problem until she met her stylist Thomas. So quickly asked for the salon name and went home and google and hunt down this guy Thomas!

Thomas is a really busy man, after many many phone calls finally I book a spot. And when I met him, I told him I wanted a short hair and whether it will looked okay on me. And he said "You got a boring hairstyle and I decided to do something nice for you". I said okay up to you as long it looked nice! I like how decisive and confident he sounded and I agreed immediately!

So he chopped off my hair half within seconds. I thought to myself...not too bad, I still have shoulder length hair!

But Thomas said he is not quite done with it and that is only the beginning of my hair cut!  So he send me to go shampoo (the head massage was excellent!) and when after my hair is blow dry, he came back and started to do magic on my hair. I was observing carefully what he was trying to do but can't really figure out! And he told me that he is going to cut my hair really short and it would looked fresh & fantastic!

After 30 mins or so....

JENG JENG JENG... my new hairstlye!!! Nice or not!!!!!

Thomas gave my hair a new life ! And who say round face cannot have short hair?

I feel young & fresh... and it has been a while I forgot how light my hair can be!

The overall cut, it was a nice sleek cut!

I was really happy with my haircut and that was my best 2012 decision to go to Thomas. He knew what he want to do with my hair the first instance he saw me and that is what I need. A stylist that can design a hairstyle for me not the other way round.. because I am not a professional hair stylist, I don't know if this or that hairstyle looked nice on me ..And I also found out that Thomas is owner of the salon and he has 15 years experience! Actually I did asked Thomas why he cut my hair so short like that and aren't him afraid I cannot accept it... he said he actually observe when he talked to me and that he knew I could definitely carry the look! Wow, he did observe my personality before making the hair cut!

Well after a week of hair cut, I still can't believe it that I am now having short hair and I am quite  enjoying it! Shampooing or blow drying hair is so much faster now and Ilove how I do not need to "park" my hair every time before I sleep.

Although I was first was kinda afraid that short hair would look boyish and won't look nice especially if I am wearing dress... but I was quite surprise that short hair just makes me feel fresh & chic!
After trying this pink dress in Debenhham, I just think my short hair looked so good in dress too!

So I am enjoying my short hair moment now and I glad I took the courage to cut it short especially when our age increases in 2013, I am  I looked younger in short hair & let me temporary forget about the increase in age !

So if are bored with your hairtsyle too, why not have a change... after all our hairs grow back eventually!

Here is where I cut my hair! The boutique salon is very cosy and have interior that looked like 70s in Shanghai!

Review : Elianto Curvee Eyeliner , comes in ergonomic shape

Have you seen this Curvee eyeliner from Elianto before ?

I was pretty curious when I first saw them and asked why is it shape like that and not the normal pencil type. Well I was told Curvee is an innovative product from Germany and that Elianto has collaborated with Schwan-Stabilo Cosmetics to come up with this uniquely ergonomic designed shape to ensures a solid grip for precise eye liner applications regardless of whether one is left or right handed. Some may asked what is ergonomic shape, it simpy means the products that are specially designed for easier or more comfortable for a human to use.

I read that Curvee eyeliner claims that it can last all day (14 hours or more) and I shall do 2 tests to see if it really true. Besides that I also like the cap removal system which is twist off type as it secures closing of cap.

The tip is really sharp & fine. The brush is long and soft

The swatch of Elianto Curvee eyeliner.

The brush is fine and I could draw very fine line and it dries up really fast. I also found out that this Elianto Curvee eyeliner is free of volatiles, parabens and formaldehyde releasing compounds.

So now I got to go make 2 very important test , i.e whether is it waterproof and smudge proof like how it claims to be.

Test 1 : Waterproof test

It stays pretty well despite me putting it under running water tap. So it pass my waterproof test! No problem going under the rain!

Test 2 : Smudge proof test

It is quite disappointing that it smudge so easily after I rub it lightly. How I wish its smudge proof because I always rub my eyes and this would definitely would be my problem.

Create this look at the launch within 5 mins for a small contest between bloggers and won a prize, yay!

Overall, I quite like the shape of the Elianto Curvee eyeliner ergonomic shape because I could grip it around my finger compare to our usual pencil eyeliner which usually we hold it with our first 3 fingers. Like it how I could grip and draw the eyeline line precisely like how I wanted. I found that it was easy for me to draw my left eyes while I hold the Curvee eyeliner on my right hand. But when I am trying to draw my right eyes, I have a little trouble of drawing it smoothly. I guess need to get used to it!

No doubt Elianto Curvee eyeliner can gives really fine lines and stay waterproof under running water. but the down side is that it that it is not smudge proof or else I would really like it.

Elianto Curvee eyeliner is sold at RM33 and refill at RM27 at all Elianto store.
